I lingered around the school with my friends,Jay,Troy,Tyler,Max, Evan, Emmett,Roy and Rory.

These are my friends.

Yup...I know...I gat a lot of friends but Troy is my best friend.I hang out with him more than the others...we're childhood friends but leave that aside.
Now...I was lingering around the school with my friends when I saw Hailey and Chris sitting on a white painted bench...I wanted to walk over to them...but it's their personal space...and the fact that Hailey's in love with the jerk annoys me...my neighbor's in love with my enemy...face it...I don't even like her...I mean Hailey...she's just my...neighbor...and my friend...that's all...it's not my business if she's in love with a jerk...and the fact that she's my closest female friend sucks...I sometimes get hurt when I think of her...like she's with him...and me...i'm just a friend to her...nothing more than that and she...she's a friend, I guess.

"Dude"Someone called.

I looked sideway and I saw Troy.

"Dude...get over it...she's with him"He said and I nodded directing my cigarette into my mouth.

"Yeah...I know...but...they don't fit...she deserves someone better"I said still looking at Hailey.

"Let her go...get her outta your mind"

"I wish I could...but it's not that easy"

"You like her?"He asked and I faced him.

"Shut up!"I exclaimed.

"I'm just saying...the way you look at her...you're feeling something for her"He said and I rolled my eye.

You wish.

She's not my type...I prefer blondes to red haired girls.

"She's not the type dude"I said.

"Can you say that to her face?"

"No"

"Then don't say it to my face"He said and he walked away.

"What's up with him?"Rory asked.

"Don't know"I replied.

"Come on...tell us"Roy insisted.

I gotta tell them or they'll just keep disturbing me.

"It's about Hailey...Troy is mad at me"

"You like her?"Tyler asked.

Same question?

"No!"I exclaimed before throwing my cigarette and walking away.

Hailey's POV

I saw him when he threw his cigarette and walked away.I felt worried for some reasons like; Is he mad about me being with Chris?

And now a question, Hailey

Why should he be mad? Maybe he's just annoyed with his friends.I looked at Chris...I really want to run after him but I don't wanna leave Chris...I don't know...i'm confused.

"What's wrong?"He asked noticing the worried look on my face.

Why did I make it so obvious?!

"Uh...nothing...I...nothing"I said with a smile.

A fake smile actually.

"Are you okay?"He asked.

"Yeah...can we carry on?"

"I think you need a rest"He said looking worried.

It's true...I actually need a rest...i've not been feeling too well since yesterday.

"Maybe"I replied.

"You're not feeling too well...are you?"He asked.

"I just..came up with a fever"I said.

"Why didn't you say so?You shouldn't be out here in the cold...you should have just stayed at home"He said with concern.

"It's okay"I said.

"You sure?"

"Yeah...it's just a fever...i'll be fine"I assured and he hugged me.

"I don't want anything to happen to you"He said and I felt shocked.

OMG.

Tell me I didn't hear that.

He cares about me?
