Chapter 1: From College To Factory

Ten years earlier

April is standing in front of a bright building. Monsters Incorporated. Just by looking at the logo gives April chills. She finally has managed to become a scarer and she's now standing right in front of the factory of her choice. Where one of her idols once worked. April takes a deep breath and walks inside of the building. It looks even bigger from the inside. It's exciting to be there. April now walks towards the receptionist. It's a slim dame with one eye and snake hairs. Pretty to see another snake like person. This monster seems to be answering many telephone calls.

"Uh, hello?", April asks out.

"One moment.", the receptionist says to the telephone before turning to April, "Hello. Welcome to Monsters Incorporated. How can I help you?"

"Uhm, April Slyther. New hired scarer in your company."

"Oh, you are April Slyther?", the receptionist says, "Yes, Mr Waternoose was waiting for you today in his office. Take the corridor to the front and go left. That's where his office is."

"Thank you a lot.", April nods, starting to walk through the corridor.

While walking, April, at a certain moment, notices a big room to the other side from where she had to go. A very bright room where all the scarers are reunited. The Scare Floor. What a glorious room to work in. April watches it in awe. That's where she is now going to work. Her daydream stops abruptly as she hears voices come to her direction. Familiar voices.

".... and then I told her, ooh what a charming snake eye you got. It hypnotizes me. I think I have been put under your spell.", one says.

"Oh well, I wish you good luck with her.", the other one states.

"You bet I will. She'll be the love of my life. I can tell you. Did I tell you how easy I was to attract ladies that way?"

"Hey, look who's there."

April turns around. She recognizes these voices. And they seem to have noticed her too. As she looks at the two of them, her eyes grew wide open. It's unimaginable to think that one day, they would see each other again. And on the same working place. They both smile at her, having felt how much of dumbfounded April grew, right at this instance.

"Mike? Sulley?", she mumbles to herself as she stares at them.

"Hey there, April. Missed us?", Sulley says, chuckling at her face.

"Y-You're both- I mean- I didn't think I would- uh....", April stutters, speechless, before running towards them both and hugging them tightly, crying out loud, "Of course I missed you!"

"Hey, hey! No need to get your eyes all wet.", Mike laughed.

April then lets go and looks at both of them.

"It's been so long....", April mumbles, "But how did you make it here? You both working in the Scare Floor?"

"Yup. After a long time but we did it. I'm the big growler and he's my assistant.", Sulley smirks.

"Sulley, just to remind you I'm Mr Wazowski the assistant. It sounds more polite when you say it that way.", Mike corrects.

"Yeah yeah. If you say so.", Sulley shakes his head and rolls his eyes, "Anyway, you may have graduated if you are here, right? How has been the studies?"

"Pretty great. I had hard times but I managed to finish the studies greatly. You don't know what I have gotten through and you wouldn't believe me.", April laughs.
