Chapter 2: The Scare Floor

Finally after changing up, the coworkers of the Scarers walk to the Scare Floor to activate the doors given to them. All the doors come out and get into place. Everything is ready for the scarers to work it all.

"OKAY, PEOPLE, EASTERN SEABOARD COMING ON-LINE.", Jerry, the chief on the scare floor, calls out, "WE GOT SCARERS COMING OUT!"

The co-workers stand tall as they wait for their scarers teammates. And they come all one per one. In serious glances as if they were going to do a heroic act. Well you can't blame them, children are toxic and they are approaching themselves to them. Well they think like it for now. They stand tall next to their partners as these check out for them to be ready. Sulley, like usual, ready like he never was. Randall, born ready. April, even better. She's kind of a new person compared to ten years ago. She was utterly in lack of confidence back at Monsters University, yet here she is, like there was no tomorrow. A confident scarer has taken place from the shy and scared one. And she's gad she is. She glances up at Sullivan, who stood a few other stands away. She winks at him to wish him luck and success and Sulley, to respond, nods at her and grins, pointing a finger at her to wish her too. Yet it wasn't a better ambiance when he wished luck to Randall, sadly though but the usual.

"We are on in 7...", Jerry starts, "6...5...4...3...2... ( no audio for some reason I don't know. Can someone explain to me how that is possible? ^^')

As the countdown ended, the horn blares and every single scarer marches towards their doors. Randall is rapidly sliding in. Sulley is being cheered on by Mike as he enters in cooled down. April enters the door cautiously, already in motion for her scare as Camille patted her in hardly, closing the door behind her. Inside the doors, the scarers are working out their best to make the children scream and the cans to be filled. Sulley succeeds his first door and gets out of there after having filled the can up.

"Oh, I'm feeling good today, Mikey!", he exclaims, looking up to the board and then seeing many points mount up, "Yeah!"

"Whoa! Attaboy! Attaboy. Another door coming right up!", Mike tells him as he immediately speeds up to find Sulley another door.

Randall on his side, gets out of his door quite satisfied, until luck turns away, revealing small points on the board. He growls, disappointed.

"You're still behind, Randall. You know, maybe I should realign the scream valve.", Fungus, Randall's assistant suggests.

"JUST GET ME ANOTHER DOOR!", Randall shouts at him.

"A door! Yes Door!", Fungus exclaims, rushing off.

April, on her side, marches out after making a little girl scream. She and Camille look on the board and they do get a bunch of points. She smiles. Camille pats on her shoulders.

"Let's get moving. I bet we'll get a lotta more of these in the pockets.", she says, summoning a new door.

And it keeps moving on and on. The scarers all enter in their doors before coming back with the cans filling up one per one. Today is being a tough job of competition and hard work. They all have big objectives; power up the city of Monstropolis, breaking a new record and or impress Mr Waternoose. Nothing more. And everyone is focusing the best possible. At one moment, Randall finishes up the last door he has of the journey. His acolyte reaches for him.

"Uh, sir?"

"What?!", Randall bursts out, startling Fungus, who immediately points up behind him.

"Look."

Randall turns around, looking up at the giant screen for the records. His own profile reaches up many points, surpassing Sullivan's. Celia starts announcing the last records reached.
