The Reincarnated Luna

CHAPTER 12

*Xyla's POV*

We ended up back at the packhouse after the 4 miles and I immediately fell, laying starfish onto the grass.
Suddenly a hand grabbed me by my shirt, holstering me up. "You have to walk it off," Zeta Kai said dropping me onto my feet.

"No," I refused, falling back onto the floor, and once again he picked me up from my shirt and tried to place me on my feet. I put no strength into my legs so instead of standing when my feet hit the floor, my knees bent and I found myself once again on the floor.

"You have to at least stand so your body doesn't lock up," he said holding his hand out. I looked at it for a second before taking it. He pulled me up and I immediately walked to go lean on James. Once Zeta Kai was satisfied he turned around to face the rest of the Etas. "Ok you know the drill, pair up," he said throwing his hands up. The way he spoke to the Etas reminded me of a college football coach.

"Except for you James, come over here." The Zeta said gesturing for James to come. He gave me an apologetic look before jogging over to the Zeta. I huffed and crossed my arms, now alone since I couldn't make out where Chase was.

"Aw, your pretty boy left you," a girl approached me.
"Gross, literally my twin," I said fake vomiting.

She seemed shocked after hearing what I said, "you're related to James," she said with a raised brow.

"No, we were just womb-mates," I crossed my arms holding in my laugh. She, however, didn't find my joke as funny as she turned up her nose and looked at me with disgust.

"Seems he took all the good genes," she said with a smug face. She turned her back to me, flipping her high ponytail in the process. She was gorgeous actually, her deep black hair complimented her pale skin perfectly. As well as her deep olive eyes that seemed to lift around the edges.

"Perfect, Emma you're willing to be Xyla's partner, you two come over here," Zeta Kai said waving his arm.

I shrugged my shoulders and began walking toward him, my legs feeling a lot better from the run. "Alright we're going to be sparring, Ethan, Taylor demonstrate please," Zeta Kai said Loud enough for everyone to hear and in just a couple of seconds, the crowd had moved back enough to give them space.

The Zeta blew his whistle, which I'm guessing is the start signal. Taylor sprinted toward Ethan while Ethan stood still, held his defensive, and watched Taylor's movement closely. Once Taylor made it to him, Ethan used his arms to redirect Taylor and then used his leg to trip him. Taylor quickly recovered and swiped his leg across the ground to trip Ethan, making him fall backward.

Ethan and Taylor got back up and started throwing hits at each other, it was all too quick for me to make out everything but it seem like the boys were evenly matched.

Zeta blew another whistle and they immediately stopped and backed away from each other keeping their eyes locked. The two boys simultaneously took their shirts off and shifted into their wolves shredding their shorts.

Taylor once again was the first the charge but this time quicker and zig zag so Ethan wouldn't know what way he was going to attack from. Ethan assumed he was going to attack from the left so he dodged right.  Taylor changed his direction at the last second catching Ethan off guard and tackling him. While on top of him Taylor growled deeply but Ethan scratched at his underbelly, kicking Taylor off him.
