Behind the Mask -Part 1

Vs' POV

We were able to escape from the monster earlier thanks to Jks quick thinking. Sadly we got separated from them. I hope they are just doing fine just like us, the important thing, for now, is to find a nearby village that we can stay in for the night.

We have been walking for quite some time now. I check on Jin if she is doing alright after what just happened on the train. It might be very scary for her. As to my surprise, she is just all calm and collected. While we are walking I notice she seems preoccupied with something. This got my curiosity so I asked.

"What are you thinking? Are you worried about the others?"

I asked as I look down on her.

"Hmm? Oh yeah, sort of but I know they will be just fine. I am more concerned about that monster earlier. I am curious of what inside that gift that the monster wants it so bad."

Jin said as she look at me while walking.

"You are really weird Jin. Do you know  that? haha." I said teasingly.

"Eh?! Why is that?" She asked.

"Well, you see most of the time people around me and Jk are either intimated by our presence or too nervous to talk with us. " I said.

"Really? Why is that?" She asked.

"Well maybe because I have this resting bitchy face while Jk has always this stern expression on his face." I smile as I find it funny.

"Well yeah, you have a point there." She said as she starts to stare at my face.

"As for you, you seem too comfortable talking and hanging with us. So it's so weird." I said.

"Well let's say you two look like someone I know in the past. Maybe that's the reason that helps me become comfortable with you guys." She answered.

"So this Taehyung guy does he really looks like me?" I asked.

"Wha-.. How did you know that name?" She look surprised when she asked.

"Well, you mention that name once we first meet. Remember? So is he?" I asked again.

"Yeah but you look a lot younger" She answered.

"Is he someone special to you?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Special person? Well, you can say that. He is a very special person for me"

She answered my question looking up at me while giving the sweetest gentle smile. The conversation ends there and we continue to walk quietly.

It was my first time seeing her smile like that. Suddenly I feel this sting inside my chest. I don't like this feeling. I don't like her smiling like that because of someone else other than me.

While I'm in the middle struggling with this bitter feeling, I suddenly felt a warm hand against my cheek. I look who it was and I see Jin with a worried face.

"Hey? Are you fine V? Are you hurt somewhere? She asked.

I hold her hand from my cheeks and put it against my chest.

"It hurts here Jin" I said.

"Huh!? Are you wounded there? Tell me when that happened? In the train or while we are escaping?" She said in a panicked state
