Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Olivia Roune POV

                Nate pushes me back into the cell and says, "Did you have a nice girl chat Olivia?"

I nod slowly and say, "Nate can I ask you something?"

He looks upset and his eyes are full of concern, but he just replies with, "Yes of course, what is wrong?"

I shake my head and say, "Nothing is wrong, it's just that I. Never mind, come back in the morning and I will tell you what you need to know."

Nate seems to only become more concerned, but leaves quietly without asking questions.

   Morning arrives and Nate is seated next to me in a metal chair. I jolt upright and suck in a deep breath. I say, "Don't do that you scared the hell out of me!"

Nate chuckles deeply and says, "Hell, really? How old are you thirteen? Watch your language."

I glare at him and reply, "Okay Mom." Which I complete with the patented Roune family eye roll.

 He raises his eyebrows and says, "What happened last night between you and Harmony? What made you so nervous?"

I shake my head again and feel Nate's thin fingers under my chin, lifting my eyes to meet his. As my eyes find his I melt slowly and then all at once. Then I say, "Do you know that is it really hard to say no to those eyes of yours?"

He removes his fingers and says, "Yes, I do that is why I used them on you."

I glance away and say, "Fine you caught me, I'll talk."

Nate sighs with relief and says, "That's all I'm asking." He leans back and says, "Well please continue, why are you so on edge."

I say, "Harmony told me about a wonderful place last night. She said that there is a place called the Land of Fifth where no one has to hide or be afraid to show what they really are."

Nate looks shocked and then says, "She didn't lie to you my grandmother told me the same tale when I was just a boy, maybe a little bit after the test. I loved her very much and she just wanted to protect me, she was on her death bed when she told me."

I look him in the eyes and say, "I am so sorry you lost your grandmother, especially because I still have mine."

                Nate glares at me and says, "You don't have to be sorry she lived a full life. That isn't the whole answer though."

I look up suddenly and reply, "What do you mean that isn't the answer."

He stares at me and says, "That isn't what is really bothering you, I can tell, remember that I have known you for eleven years Olivia."

I sigh and say, "Okay, I want you to come with me, to help us escape."

Nate leans back in his chair and tilts his head back in thought. Then he says, "Breaking out of here isn't easy Olivia, I would be putting you in danger which is something I have sworn against."

I nod my head and say, "I know Nate but can you trust me?"

  Nate sucks in a deep breath and says, "That isn't all is it?"

I nod and reply, "No there is more. Harmony is going to tag along with her doctor, Calum."

He shakes his head and says, "So along with you I have to be responsible for a girl and her boy toy."

I cover my mouth to stifle a laugh and say, "Yes please Nate you would be doing me a great service."

Nate stands and says, "I won't do it because it is a service to you. I will do it because I care for you Olivia."

I stand struck with millions of feelings all at once and then I walk over to stare up at him. I suddenly notice that I am extremely short compared to Nate. He is probably close to 6'3 and I am somewhere around 5'6.

He looks down at me and says, "Yes Olivia, how can I help you?"

I suddenly feel angry, why must he always think that I need him! Hot with temper I say, "Nate I won't always need you to be my doctor."

Nate replies with a slow and long sigh. he tenses up and begins to turn away.

Then I grab him by the shoulders extra hard and turn him around to face me. I take a deep breath calming the nerves inside me and say, "What if I want you to be something more?" I closes my eyes and lean in to do something I have only read about in books...kiss.

Nate's eyes turn a dark brown with a strong craving and another emotion I couldn't decipher.

As I begin to turn away Nate grabs my waist and pulls me parallel to his chest. I molded into him as I returned the kiss. The longer the kiss lasted the more into it grew. It was ironic how our lips fit perfectly together like pieces of a puzzle.  I pull away when I become light headed from lack of oxygen. while trying to catch my breath I ask, "So is that a yes?"

Nate smirks down at me and replies, "Damn woman you drive a hard bargain, but yes I will go with you to the Land of Fifth."

As if on instinct I lean up and kiss Nate again inwardly grinning like the Cheshire Cat. Men are so easy to persuade when there is a Damsel in distress.

After we finish talking and occasionally kissing each other, Nate pulls a pen from his lab coat and draws near the bed the escape route out of the complex. First, Nate will make sure the building is empty and the doctors are gone. Then, I will take my key and get Harmony and Calum. Next, is the actual escape which will consist us everyone helping in order to break out. From there we will make our way to a lady named Sitah who will help us over the walls. I glance to Nate and say, "We leave tonight."

He nods shortly in my direction and says, "Wait for me to tap on your door that will be the signal for you to go get Harmony. I pull Nate up from the floor and say, "I will be here waiting for you."
