Chapter 12: Olivia Roune POV
Morning comes and seems to be the coldest one yet.
Calum says, "I'm no weather man, but it's going to snow soon."
I nod knowing that he is most always right and because I can feel the moisture around us. We start what looks to be our final trek up this time.
The group seems to be a little more excited due to the fact that the maps say the Land of Fifth is over the mountain. My mind wanders away while the boys begin conversations about something 'manly'.
I imagine a big place, filled with sweet smelling air and beautiful sounds of music wafting around me. The world doesn't seem to want to ruin the suspense because I am brought back to reality when I trip head first over an uprooted tree stem.
Sitting up I feel light headed and something wet running down my face. Nate is immediately at my side followed by Harmony, Kimmy, Calum, and Johnathan.
Nate says, "Olivia you're bleeding. How do you feel?"
I hate being the center of attention so I say, "Fantastic, just wanted to test the gravity around us."
Harmony chuckles and says, "Relax girl, we need a break anyway."
Smiling my thanks to her, I lean back against a tree and then everything goes black.
~Seven hours have passed~
When my eyes open up I see the group lounging around a fire and nothing but shadows.
I say, "What time is it?"
Nate comes over and says, "It's somewhere around ten o'clock. You were out for nearly seven hours."
Slowly I start to stand up, but I fall once again on my butt hard.
Johnathan yells over, "Take it easy Olivia, your bandages will rip off."
Nate grabs my hand and leads it to the right side of my face where there is a big piece of cotton taped. He says, "We decided to make camp here tonight, okay?"
I nod knowing that even if I could walk away, I wouldn't get two feet without collapsing again."
After I get dinner, which consisted of our hard won squirrel meat, I am placed in a tent next to Nate for the rest of the evening.
~The following morning~
Another morning has come much too early once again.
I am shaken awake by Nate who says, "Olivia we need to start moving around now. How do you feel today?"
