You meet them the day before
And today they are no more
You wave them a hello
And today they bid a goodbye
You frown, completely confused
Heart racing, head pounding
You were planning to embrace them for dinner
But before that they embraced death
They're lying in front of you
Eyes shut, lips sealed and body, cold blooded
You kneel down before them
Heart shattered to a million pieces
Attire drenched with tears
You know you cannot
But you also know that you have to
Gather yourself and bid adieu
And allow them to see you on the other side.
