Can't let you go

Chapter 8: The Unexpected

Next day morning,

Lisa didn't sleep well the last night. She just kept thinking about her foolishness and cursed herself to offer the idea of sacrificing her freedom for the manor, but at the same time she was happy she did it as she didn't know what she and her aunt would have done without a place to live in. She was tired , but she couldn't rest because Jungkook had ordered to visit the princess in the noon and apologize to her. She reluctantly got up from her bed and went for a bath. She then went down to have breakfast. Jungkook was not there today. She ate her food and went upstairs. After not more than 15 minutes some commotion is heard downstairs. Then someone knocks on Lisa's room door. On opening she saw a maid there.

"Miss, Master Jungkook has called you downstairs."

"Is something the matter? I heard a lot of commotion from downstairs.", Lisa asked the maid.

"There are some important guests downstairs. Master Jungkook has asked you to go downstairs as soon as you can.", saying this the maid bowed and left leaving behind a confused Lisa. But she didn't waste her time pondering about it and went downstairs. On reaching the receiving room she was let in by Vernon. On entering she was shocked to see the visitors. It was Mr. Jimmy and Princess Rose.

They were both seating opposite to Jungkook. Mr. Jimmy was talking about something with Jungkook while Princess Rose was sipping tea, an unpleasant look on her face. When they noticed her presence she came forward and bowed. Then Jungkook motioned her to sit beside him on the sofa. She sat down and looked towards the two visitors. 

LISA'S POV:

What is with this situation. Why is Mr. Jimmy and Princess Rose here. Have they come to personally accept my apology? No, No. Why would they? I shook out of my thoughts when Mr. Jimmy suddenly said,

"Hello Miss Lisa. I hope you remember me although we didn't get much time to converse at the tea party. How are you doing?"

"How can I forget an important person like you Mr. Jimmy. I am very well and hope you are also well.", I replied.

Mr. Jimmy just smiled and said, " I am also doing good. Well you must be wondering why we are here right?"

You bet I am. I just hope you don't put me in jail for what I did to the Princess as she deserved it. Not getting any answer from me Mr. Jimmy continued,

"Well we are here on the orders of Princess Hilda. She has asked Princess Rose to apologize to you for the incident she caused on the day of tea party. She has also asked me to send you her apologies on behalf of her daughter."

What? Apologize to me? Did I hear it right. Thats why the Princess has an expression like someone died in front of her. Well good for me, I don't have to apologize to her now.

"Oh its not necessary. It was a mistake, Lisa should not have made a big deal out of it. She should also apologize to the Princess.", Jungkook said.

Ahh of course. That sly fox, how could he leave this opportunity to stick up to the Princess. But it is futile to argument with him and that bratty princess. I should just be the bigger person and apologize.

"I apologize from my words Princess Rose.", I said and bowed my head.

"Oh you shouldn't apologize Miss Lisa. It was mainly Rose's mistake. Rose, apologize to her.", Mr. Jimmy said.

He must close to her to call her Rose directly. The Princess didn't say anything and kept looking at me. She then suddenly said,

"I want to speak personally to Miss Lisa. I ask you to come with me to the garden."

I was taken back with her statement and just looked at her confused. Then I looked towards Jungkook and he just nodded his head signaling to go with her. I got up and followed her outside to the garden. There she stopped near the fountain and then turned to look at me and said,

"You don't expect me to apologize to you right? I didn't do anything wrong anyway. You are just a pretentious person who has successfully fooled my mother and Jimmy."

I knew it. She is like that. Now I feel like laughing at myself to think she would maybe apologize to me. Well anyway, I have already apologized so I don't think it matters now.

"Don't worry Princess your apology doesn't matter. I have already apologized for something that wasn't wrong on my part. And your statement about being pretentious, well even if I am pretentious, it shouldn't concern you."

To my surprise she started laughing. Is she a maniac? Why is she laughing?

"You are as feisty as you were that day. Well, I kinda do like you. I just wanted to see your reaction on my statement. I think we can be friends. First of all I do apologize for my behavior back in the tea party. I just judged you on the basis that you came with Jungkook.", she said with a smirk.

I was speechless. Now I am sure she has some mental problems. First she insults me, then she says we can be friends. What is up with her?

"I know what you are thinking. Why is she suddenly like this? Well I really think you are a good companion. You just outright said everything wrong with me on my face. You were right, there are many people who are with me just because of my status. Thats why I feel lonely even when I am surrounded by many people. I just want a true friend, I hope you accept my request.", she said with a sad smile.

Now I feel bad for her. She is bratty but I can kind of relate to her. I also didn't have any close friend due to my mixed blood label. I only had my aunt during my lonely time. But there is something fishy about all this. Well, whatever, I don't care now. She can do what she wants, it will eventually be Jungkook's problem. I kind of hope she does something that will make him let me go.

"Well Princess, who am I to reject your request. I hope we help each other in future."

She smiled widely hearing my statement and then suddenly hugged me tightly. Well she looks happy. We then went inside while she was clinging on my arm. Everyone was shocked to see her sticking so closely to me and smiling cheekly. She then went to my room with me. We chatted for a long time. While talking with her I realized she might not be that bad of a person. I can maybe get along with her. She then went back in the evening. After seeing them off I went to my room without sparing Jungkook a glance. After some time I had dinner in my room and was about to do my night routine when suddenly someone knocked on the door. On opening it I was surprised to see the person. It was Jungkook.
