"Oh, my god. We need to go into surgery right away..." overlapping panicked voices filled my ears but my heart was pounding in my head as dread filled me.

Carlisle's cold hand was over my eyes but tears were streaming down my face. Bella's eyes were closed but her neck was torn open. Blood was everywhere. Was she breathing? I have to save her. I have to help her. I'm a nurse. I..

"Belle, go to my office. You have my word that I will do all that I can," Carlisle said in a low tone near my ear.

"N-No!" I argued and pried his hand from my eyes to see them wheeling Bella into the operating room.

"Belle! Do not argue with me!" Carlisle raised his voice for the first time at me.

I grabbed his coat roughly, "That's my sister!"

His eyes softened and he looked at my hands, "Belle.."

I looked at my hands as well and they were shaking beyond control, "P-Please.."

He kissed my forehead and lifted my chin with his pointer finger, "Bellezza, go to my office."

I released his coat and he rushed into the operation room, barking orders as the doors swung shut. I stood there in disbelief. This can't be happening.

"Miss Swan," Dr. Parker, one of the doctors that trained me, gently assisted me to Dr. Cullen's office.

He assisted me in sitting on the leather couch bed and provided me with a hospital blanket. As he wrapped it over me, he told me that he was going to be bringing me water, tissues, and anything else that I requested. I nodded in silence and in shock. My sister was here. She was gravely hurt. How could this have happened? Dr. Parker brought me the cart and left me alone after dimming the lights in the office to make it as calm as possible for me. Despite that, I was bouncing my leg repeatedly and my hands were still shaking. I bit my lower lip angrily. Some nurse I am.

After two hours, I began to pace in Dr. Cullen's room. Hoping for some update or news. To distract myself, I looked over what Dr. Cullen had on his shelves. There was a CD player and he had a few CDs here. I went through them to help relax. I was surprised to see a lot of classical music. Thinking about it, he always enjoyed reading classical literature and Shakespearan plays. Sometimes, he even spoke as if he was from another era.

Thinking about him now, I've grown to love him. However, so much of him was a complete mystery that drew me in. I've never seen him eat or drink and he rarely takes days off. The only time he isn't able to work is when the weather is sunny and bright. He seems to enjoy the cold and his body is always cold. On rare occasions, his eyes have changed color before but he says it's the fluorescents. I did find it odd that he's so young yet so experienced as a doctor. I've never seen such precise movements done by someone of his age. He doesn't even age, now that I think about it.

"What am I thinking?" I asked out loud.

I looked at the clock and decided to lay on his couch bed. Covering my eyes with my forearm, I couldn't get his eyes out of my head. I'm in love with Carlisle Cullen. Now wasn't the time to think of him. He's my boss and a genius doctor. Now, he's trying to save my twin's life. Even if Bella and I haven't always seen eye to eye, I always see her in the mirror.

I sat up when Carlisle entered his office, "Carlisle?"

He kept his eyes on the ground and his coat was mostly covered in blood. A blood soaked rag was between his hands and he stuffed it into his pocket. Impatiently, I rushed up to him and he finally made eye contact with me. Sorrow filled his golden eyes.

"N-No. No," I said, growing angry and afraid.

"Belle," he stepped closer to me with his hands reaching out to me.

I angrily took a step back, "No! You should have taken me with you! I could have saved her! I'm a nurse! I wanted to save our mother! I'm your partner! I should have been with you!"

His eyebrows furrowed together and he stepped towards me again, "Belle, there wasn't any-"

"Shut up!" I screamed and grabbed his coat to pull him to me, "I should have been there for her!"

His cold hands touched my wrists, "Bellezza, she was already gone when she was brought here."

I scanned his eyes to see if he was lying. After years of working with him, I knew when he was lying. He wasn't lying now no matter how desperately I wanted him to be. The constant crying was burning my eyes and it stung my cheeks as I sobbed. I dropped my head against his chest and couldn't keep any composure. My sister, my twin, was gone. I didn't care about how childish I was at this point. I sobbed until my voice was gone and I ran out of tears to cry. Carlisle remained with me the entire time and personally escorted me to my sister's room where my dad and I mourned together.
