Do you rulers ever give a just decision?
Do you judge all men fairly?
No! you think only of the evil you can do, and they commit crimes of violence in the land.
Evil men go wrong all their lives;
They tell lies from the day they were born.
They are full of poison like snakes; they stop up their ears like a deaf cobra,
Which does not hear the voice of the snake charmer, or the chant of a clever magician
Break the teeth of these fierce lions O God.
May they disappear like the water draining away;
May they be crushed like weeds on a path.
May they be like snails that dissolve into slime;
May they be like a baby born dead that never sees the light.
Before they know it, they are cut down like weeds;
In his fierce anger God will blow them away while they are still living.
The righteous will be glad when they see sinners punished;
They will wade through the blood of the wicked.
People will say, 'The righteous are indeed rewarded;
There is indeed a God who judges the world.'
[psalm 58, bible verse]
The new god will soon be borne...

It was the crisp cold morning of the winter, 2009. The misty blue skies rained ever so gently of pearlescent drops of snow fluttering like the wings of a pixie to the frosty winds. The church bells chimed rhythmically, the songs of their Lord drifting into the alabaster morning sky, singing lyricless hymns in praise and beseech for wisdom and guidance. A young boy walked hand in hand with a young woman towards the sanctuary of prayer, its weathering stones forming solemn arches and columns tainting its presence with an ancient aura, the white and peach paint decorating the walls with the warm brown of wood and brick blending harmoniously with a single cross standing in all its grandeur making the church's existence announced. The woman smiled down at the little boy, her waves of dark hair gathered to a low ponytail, treacherous strands framing her face timelessly as her kind hazel eyes gazed upon him,
"Are you warm enough in your parka?" she asked gently as she readjusted the brown winter coat that took up most of the little boy, who shook his head,
"Yes ma'am," he replied quietly.
"Oh please, none of that 'ma'am' talk. You can call me 'mom'. I know it's been only two weeks but remember you are my kid, alright?" she said with a laugh as she tucked a strand of his honey brown hair back into his beanie. The child nodded.
"Now smile for me Lighto-kun," she joked with a wide infectious smile that made the little boy smile too.
"Yes mama." This made the woman smile lovingly before kissing his little cheek.
