-Dorian's POV-

I awoke to a ding from my phone. My alerts were all set to silent while I slept, except one. I grabbed my phone from my side table and swiped the message open:

"Massive casualty producing event in US/CA. Suspect TBD. Vampires/WereWolves/Humans. Level Five. Convene ASAP at West Coast Office. Confirm."

I mentally knew who it was. The hybrid group that I had been chasing for years. I was wide awake at this point.

I replied, "Confirm, will arrive in 16 hours."

I then sent a message to my driver giving him need to know details.

The blond laying naked in my bed, covered with a thin sheet, stirred slightly. I yanked the sheet off her, and she rolled over and stared.

"What the hell are you doing, get back in bed, the sun isn't up.", she demanded sleepily.

"Get up, Garret will be here shortly to take you home. I have to leave." I told her while walking to my closet. I needed to pack, and she loved attention which I did not have the patience for at the moment. I grabbed my prepacked suitcase and slid it out, then found my carry on with other needed items including my passport.

I quickly dressed in my usual attire: slacks, button down, and suit jacket. I grabbed a overcape as I wasn't sure what the weather would be like. As I pulled my luggage in my room to make my way downstairs, I saw Zuri was still lying in bed, and I felt frustration overcome my emotions. My phone dinged, letting me know Garrett was downstairs.

"Zuri, you can put your clothes on and leave now, or I will carry you naked outside to your waiting ride.", I held her dress out, giving her a choice.

She rolled her eyes and snatched her dress. "You are such an ass hole, I don't know why I even sleep with you." She replied, fishing for a compliment.

"I'm not sure either. Hurry, you're already delaying me more than needed." I urged as I waved her towards the exit. She wasn't happy, but she made her way down the stairs with me behind her. She stepped out and Garrett was already waiting on her with the door open. I could feel her anger as she climbed into the vehicle without another word to me.

Good. I was trying to focus on work. I locked the door and made my way to my car parked in the garage off the side of the house and threw my bags in the trunk. I got in and cranked up my Vantage. I was glad it was still early in the morning, which means no one would be on the road. I backed out, and pulled on the road, going well over the posted speed limit.

As I made it to the small airplane hangar and runway, Garret was already there, speaking with the pilot making sure he knew what was expected for the trip. I grabbed my luggage and made my way to where they were standing.

"Evening Mr. Rosu, I have everything mapped out, we should arrive on scheduled time with no issues. The weather will be flying appropriate for the duration of the trip."

I nodded and stepped onto the plane with Garret behind me. The pilot stepped on moments later after checking the luggage was secure.

We took off shortly after, and I pulled out my phone after we reached a cruising altitude and tried to find any and all information on the attack that happened. I watched news broadcast, read articles and comments, searched hashtags, any and everything I could find that might help with information. Photos started coming in from the scene. Most of the council members in the North America Region were already on scene but I knew this would be a lengthy investigation.

I was most interested in the list of people in attendance. Why would this group risk all this death, if they weren't after a certain person? This was the largest amount of bodies they had racked up, and that included a good amount of their people dead. Their leader wasn't stupid, he was after someone or something, and I was going to be the one to figure it out.
