A Forgotten Name

The sun sets down, which transitions to a beautiful night with shimmering stars scattering the sky. Unfortunately, however, the soothing breeze in the air doesn't ease the sad sack tense body as he sits on a bench all by his lonesome self.

Oddly enough, the starry night doesn't make the seeming reliable Hero stare in awe, but rather, he feels the looming loneliness take over him as his eyes darken quite a bit. Most of the people look over the miserable fool and couldn't help that his frequent visits to the park is frightening since some of the regulars often catch him sitting on the same bench, watching on the scenery right in front of him. Not wanting to confront the depressed college student due to awkwardness, the bystanders usually walk away and pretend that they never saw some nineteen-year old on their routes. The depressed boy doesn't mind the glares, though.

Right now, Hero is in some crowded town where his university is located, which is most saddening since that means he had to part ways with his friend group for a long while to pursue his preferred profession; a doctor, specifically. Though it's only been his second semester, the amount of medical knowledge the attractive brunette student has reviewed and consumed is utterly appalling for most of his peers, the professors included. Through the rumors, the so-called 'nerdy genius' around campus has made a name for himself and further solidifies that point by winning multiple awards across the country from a variety of fields such as language, mathematics, physic, and much more.

Furthermore, the same nerd has attended numerous clubs, which has put his skillset in full display. Excluding any sport-related cirriculum, he can seemingly excel at most activities that the college student oftentimes get requests to become head of each club as to be the best representative they've ever have... also, he's - not to people's surprise - a ladies man whenever he steps into campus. Hero has this innate charisma that is quite magnetizing to even the most popular women in the university as they swoon over him constantly every day, which he has received a number of love letters, though he would try to meet up with those same women and politely decline their confession and simply hope for the best.

Hero is simply the embodiment of what everyone strives to become. Most - if not all of his peers - look up to him and often go up to him for advice on how he's able to come so far and achieve so much. The man has so much living up to his name that some even assume that the student is simply a scary workaholic and his academic as well as social ranking has been solidified to an above average satisfactory level and his friend circle is simply massive and would take time to count how many confidants he has accumalated over the years. He has everything to be happy about... right?

So, why does he feel emptiness inside? Why does he feel unfulfilled? Why does he feel as if his world could crumble any minute now?

He then subconsciously scooch over his hand to the side, expecting a soft touch from someone Hero holds dear to, but as he frantically stretches his arm to navigate it to a loved one's hand, the college student begins to realize that - like most days, every day, even - nobody is with him by his side. *She* isn't by his side... not anymore. The singular epiphany he has to constantly remind himself always leaves the charming nineteen-year old to tears that lasts for hours, days even... and today is no different as he wipes them away from his eyes. Hero oftentimes silently wishes that he can just move on and continue to march forward.

He can't... he simply cannot.

Even with the drowning noises of praise every single day when the charming knight steps into campus, what rings louder to him than anything are the whispers in his head. Despite attempting to attend classes enthusiastically, joining multiple clubs and activities - whether they are leisure-based or academic-based, frequently visiting Faraway, the inner turmoil doesn't seem to waver anything soon as it keeps eating him away every chance it gets and even if he has the opportunity to visit his hometown every year and a half, the college student sees that nothing has changed at all. The same neighborhood... the same park, the same supermarket, the same pizza plaza... everything is how he left it.
