Chapter 8: Making up

"8-BIT?!"

Everyone were surprised to see 8-BIT bust out of the room like that, especially at his condition.

Before anyone spoke anything else, the alarms went off, Rico darted to 8-BIT and gave him a piggyback ride while Nani carried Spike. They all ran as fast as possible. They all know there's no time to speak, it's the time to RUN!

"CATCH THEM!"

"WE CAN'T LET THEM GO!"

The hostile brawlers were running really fast, so they were starting to catch up. 8-BIT jumped off of Rico, he couldn't walk that well so he crashed onto the ground, breaking his screen a little bit, but he still got up, and started shooting like crazy." Rico realized really swiftly, he ran back to him, exclaimed, "8-BIT?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

8-BIT pointed at another direction, telling Rico to just go.

Rico was hesitant, but the feral brawlers got very close, which made him run away, leaving 8-BIT.

The bullets managed to make some brawlers run away. 8-BIT got his super from all of that, once he placed it, he felt a surge in energy. He started dealing a lot damage. He got almost everyone to flee, but someone sneaked behind him, with a hammer on their hands.

BAM!

Peep came from another corner, getting everyone to flee. Nani came right after.

"OH DEAR!"

"Alright, Spike! You should be good to go." Pam patted Spike on the head a bit. Spike healed a lot from what happened, but he refused to leave.

"Umm... You wanna stay?"

Right after that, someone knocked on the door. Jessie went to check who's outside.

"Rico?" Jessie said.

"Hey uh... Sorry to bother you and your family. Is 8-BIT doing alright?"

"Not too well... We're trying our hardest to fix him, we'll try our hardest to get your friend back, okay?" Jessie replied as Rico walked in.

"...T-That hammer really hit hard, didn't it?"

"Yeah... We found out his voice box broke before the hammer hit him, I think that's why he didn't say anything when he met us again? Did someone break it?" Jessie said as she walked up to 8-BIT.

"Either way, I hope you guys can repair him, but don't stress yourselves out during it..."

"Let's see if I can turn him on..." Jessie said as she crouched and pressed 8-BIT's buttons in a specific order to turn him on... But nothing happened.

Jessie sighed, she stood up and turned to Rico, "Ah... Still not responding."

Rico was disappointed, but he didn't really say anything about it, instead he responded with, "Alright... See you soon." And walked towards the exit.

Pam and her family were starting to get very tired from working on repairing 8-BIT, it's already 1 AM. They all decided to try and turn him on one last time before going to sleep.
