When my tutor let me go, I felt a weight brush off of my shoulders. Finally. I could go to my part time job I just got last week; working in the book shop. Even if I'm only scanning books and receiving money, then giving change to the customer. Then, on occasion, you'll get the ones who will stop for a chat.

As I was about to exit the gate to find the bus stop, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned round to a familiar blonde, who was in a pe top now. "Hey!" I greeted him, noticing his white shirt sticking out of his backpack. "Oh, your zips undone, let me zip it up for you-"

"Makoto." His voice stopped me, hand grabbing my wrist as I raised it to help him. "I know it's undone, don't worry. I was wondering if you could take my shirt home with you to finish the stitching. I don't know if you're busy later on but...maybe you could do me this one favour?"

"Sorry, I've got a job I just started-"

"Where is it? I can help you out while you help me." His desperation for me to do this quest was a tiny bit concerning so I shook my head. "What? You can't do this job and sew at the same time? I can work for you."

"Byakuya, that's not how that works. I can't just let you do my job then you get nothing. I'd feel bad, plus I'm saving up for a camper van, so I need all I can; really."

"Why do you need a camper van? Is your family going on holiday?"

"No I um... I'd rather not say." I spoke as I suddenly shied away, turning behind me to the gate again. "Look, Byakuya, I really need to get on my bus or I'm going to be late to work. You can come with me if you'd like but-"

"Get a ride with me." I looked at him again. "My fathers assistant is picking me up today, she can drop us off if you'd rather that."

"Oh...uhm-"

"I'm not taking no for an answer, Naegi." I blushed a bit when he called me my last name, I don't know why. He soon took my wrist and he dragged me to his assistant's fancy black car. The ones you see in movies. She came out and opened the door for us, and Byakuya let me get in first. I thought he'd keep the middle spot free, so I sat on the left side; however he scooted right next to me, knees embarrassingly touching.

"Where to?" The driver asked, not looking at us.

"Where do you work, Makoto?" Byakuya asked me, and I looked down at my backpack; which was on my lap.

"Oh- um...Hanako Books." I stuttered out, digging my nails gently into my palms.

"To Hanako Books." Byakuya ordered, and the car suddenly started.

I looked out of the window, watching students walk past the blurry green hedges and trees, cherry blossoms falling down. The sky was a clear blue, a couple thin clouds passed by, but nothing storm-like.

"Tell me, Makoto, what genre of books do you like? Mystery? Romance? Non-fiction? Fiction?"

"A little bit of everything, I guess. But I mainly read mangas, they're much easier for my brain to process. If it's a manga, I usually go for superhero or romance themed ones. I have a couple series at home. But as I work at Hanako, I get a 10% discount on everything. How about you?"

"Mystery and murder, or a mix of the two."

I didn't reply for a minute, thinking he would go on. "Oh, is that all you read?" I asked.

"Yes. And while you serve customers and stitch my shirt I'll look round for some that I haven't read. Though I doubt that there will be any I haven't read."

"I didn't agree to stitch your shirt, Byakuya! I'm going to be working!"

"I'm not taking no for an answer." He repeated like before, then reached into his bag and gave me the shirt that he treasures. I groaned, folding it again so it could fit in my bag.

"You're a pain." I scoffed, looking away again.

"We're here." I heard the driver say, then Byakuya unbuckled our seatbelts.

"Come back when I call. I'll just be here if you need me." Byakuya replied, then came out after me when I opened my door. Afterwards, the car drove off, and I was left with this pushy guy.

I showed him where the store was, and to my desk. "Makoto!" The older woman, Hanako, came up to me, giving me a sweet hug. "So glad that you've come back to us, on time too! You'll be glad to know that today's probably going to be a chilled out day, so feel free to start some homework or read while you're free. Oh, and I see you've brought a friend!" She looked at Byakuya, who was slightly flustered, but still tried to look smart in front of my obvious boss.

"Good afternoon, Ms Hanako!" He greeted, bowing.

"Oh, a polite boy I see!" She smiled, bowing slightly back. "Well, I'll let you two do what you must, I'll be in my office buying new books!" She smiled warmly, then left me with my rich, bossy 'friend'.

"Let's get to work, Makoto!" Byakuya cheered, then sat behind the counter, checking out some of the damaged books left under it. This is going to be a long night.
