Olive

This was insane. Olive hurried down the marble corridors — RED CORRIDORS — of the Air Kingdom, searching for any signs of her Aunt. NO, no. She couldn't be GONE. THIS WAS INSANE. Swallowing back her anger, she continued to search. Everyone was looking for Evera. The Fire Queen had disappeared two days ago, but everyone was still looking for her in the entire palace. She rounded a corner and bumped into Narcissa, who seemed as exhausted as herself. "Any signs of —" Olive started, but the expression on her cousin's face told everything. She sighed and sat down on a stool. "Surely she'll come back," she tried to reassure her cousin. "Maybe," Narcissa agreed. "I'm just . . . worried. Maybe it is time to search her room." "She specifically told us not to go in," Olive pointed out. "The last thing she told us to do," Narcissa grumbled. "Fine," Olive gave in. Maybe some bad guy had forced her to say that, so they wouldn't come looking for her. Maybe . . . They hurried up the staircase (RED STAIRCASE, UGH) and emerged in the Queen's Chamber. Of course, no sign of Evera. Olive sighed and turned out. "Wait — look! There's this letter," Narcissa said. She ripped open the envelope and spilled out its content — a red paper with words scribbled on it.

I'm going to the Seven Seas to find Eve and Moon. Don't panic.

Um, alright. Don't panic. CERTAINLY they didn't panic. Translation: Olive didn't panic. Narcissa did. "It's all right, she'll be fine. When Mother sends her back home, she'll make better decisions." Olive reassured her cousin. Narcissa flipped the page around.

If I don't find them, Icea is in charge, because I will be charting the Seven Seas for my sisters.

Narcissa dropped the page. "Okay," Olive said, "you can panic now."

. . .

Icea offered them a plan. Olive turned it down. She was in charge for now, since they had no proof Evera hadn't found Moon and Eve. "— and we get her back safely." Fire finished telling them her plan. She grinned. "Isn't it smooth?" "No," Olive said. "Clog. That's a clog. We're going with my plan." "But —" "NO!" Olive thundered. They ended up at the cliff two hours later, after a LOT of arguments and all that. Olive had suggested they send someone looking for her aunt, just in case she hadn't gone far into the parallel world. The wind whipped through the tall stone peeks, jagged here and there on the outskirts. Olive always felt uneasy when she came here — it gave her a prickly, shivering feeling, like she was being watched by a gang of ghosts. It wasn't hard to imagine a lost soul roaming the jagged, yellow peeks. "Your Majesty, if Queen Evera is out there without her sisters, she's as good as dead —" A soldier started, dismounting his horse. Olive, surprisingly strong, threw him back a good three meters. "Anyone else want to question why we're here?" she snarled. Everyone shook their heads. Even the horses shied away from her. Olive didn't like ordering people around, but Eve would yell at her for two days straight if Evera died or was seriously injured. Olive sighed. "We need to find a way to warn them," she said, glancing around. "Any ideas?" The silence was so forbidding it might have been the reason why, out of the corner of her eye, Oliva saw an eagle suddenly give a shriek and fall down the chasm, pelting down like a stone plummeting to the ground.
