Chapter 9 - Birthday Surprise
“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Arianna, Luke and Matthew. Happy birthday to you.” A chorus of voices bellowed out as I walked into the kitchen.
I blush and sit down on a bar stool that had been conveniently left available between the other 2 musketeers.
“You’re kidding right?” I ask them.
“Not one bit. Oh and happy 4th of July guys!!!” Michael sings.
Us triplets all roll our eyes.
“So, are we all ready for tonight?” I ask as a massive plate of pancakes is placed in front of me.
I grin and dig in.
“Yep. Invites were sent out on Monday, word has gotten around, alcohol is fully stocked and we have our presents sorted.” Jack listed.
“Mother of funky monkeys!!!!!!” I yell as realisation dawns on me.
Everyone looks at me with surprized looks at my out bust.
“I don’t have anything to wear! Gosh dammit!”
They all shake their heads and laugh.
My body tenses as someone comes up behind me and covers my eyes.
My breath reals in and gets ready to scream bloody murderer when my body takes a moment to go over what’s going on.
I get up and whirl around to hug my best friend.
“Jenny!!!!”
She laughs.
“Took you a while. What have these people been doing to you?”
I laugh along with her.
“When did you get back?”
“Last night. And I had to hear from this guy that you had been adopted.” She points to Jack.
“Well, I wouldn’t call it adoption when they are my real family.” I smile.
“Wait a sec, you’re the missing musketeer?”
I roll my eyes at the use of that name.
“Yep.”
“Cool.”
“I know.”
“Wait till everyone hears about this!!!”
