Chapter 8 – Planning
“So, now that we know who you really are, we know when your birthday is going to be.” Luke says.
I look at him, shooting him a glance before my gaze was torn to Matt who started bouncing up and down.
“It’s the same as ours, The fourth of July.” He says.
“Yes and what is so special about my birthday?” I ask them.
“Well sweetheart, you will be turning seventeen in a week or so and since your bothers missed your sixteenth they wont want this one to be horrible, they want it to be special.” Alec says, joining in on the conversation.
I roll my eyes.
“That’s sweet but what do you plan on doing?” I say.
“Throwing a party. All your friends can come.” Jack says as if its nothing.
“That’s nice of you but I only have a few friends…” I trail off at the looks they give me.
“Nonsense. We have seen the gang you hang out with at school on occasions. There is, what, about 15 of you? And don’t give me that ‘not many friends’ crap.” Jack says.
I sigh, giving in because I am clearly loosing this fight and plus, I am out numbered.
“Who are your friends anyway?” Alec says.
“Jemma, Jenna, Jenny, Jessica, Jaime, Jamie, Jorden, Alex, Amanda, Andre, Sam, Cody, Cole, James, Jayden, Ariella, Emily and Amiee.” I list my gang of friends.
“Okay, 18 friends then. I have clearly underestimated you.” Jack says.
“Oh, I forgot Harry and Lulu and…” I say and get cut off.
“Okay we get it. You have lots of friends.” Alec says.
“Miss popular.” Jack mutters under his breath.
“I heard that jack!” I say good naturedly.
“But I had never thought of it that way. I guess we only really went to the movies and shopping on my birthdays before.” I add.
“That’s going to change. You will get a proper party. And when I say party, I mean party.” Jack says.
“With alcohol?” Alec says.
“Definitely. Mum and dad allow it. I mean, we are teenage boys for crying out loud.” Luke says.
