Y/N's POV
I enter the busy, as usual, tube station. Tapping my card on the reader excitedly and walking through. I rushed down the stairs, practically flying. I arrive at my platform. I get on the crowded tube, squeezing my way in. We passed a few stops before the screen readout 'Next stop: London bridge.' I got off there and made my way to (I forget what the train station was called it's been a long time since I've been to London so sorry to whoever lives there-) I hopped on and sat in one of the booths. This train was a bit less crowded than the tube, but I was definitely not complaining.
I always loved being in trains. I'm not a huge train nerd or anything but I just always liked the feeling of being there. People find it weird when I try to explain. I understand why, though. Why would you like a place with so many people and such a dirty atmosphere? Honestly, I don't know. I just do. The smell, the rush, everything makes me feel so relaxed.
I lifted my phone from my tote bag hanging across my chest and went to Spotify. I opened my playlist, fully dedicated to Wilbur Soot. I had no idea who the guy was, I just liked his music. Something about it just made me feel so calm. I take out my earbuds from my pocket and insert them into my ears. I plug them in and shuffled the playlist.
1, 2, 3, 4.
I hummed to the tune softly, while slightly singing it.
I think this time I'm dying.
I closed my eyes, thinking about how my life would be in Brighton. I leaned forward to rest my elbow on the table in front of me. I cupped my face in my hand.
I'm not melodramatic...
The lyrics slowly got quieter, as I faded into a sleep. I woke up in what had felt like hours. I checked the time on my phone and, surprisingly, I had only slept for a few minutes.
'Arriving at Brighton. Please mind the gap between the train and the platform.'
The doors opened with a *swish* as the voice repeated itself again.
'Mind the gap.'
I got up swiftly, collecting all my bags from the compartment up above me and wrapping them around me. Leaving the train, I opened my phone to check the time. 08.00 exactly.
'I have 2 hours to look around before I have to go.' I look around for an exit sign. I find one eventually, knowing nothing about the place. I walk up the steps and come out to a large area with plenty of buildings around it. (IVE NEVER BEEN TO BRIGHTON IDK WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IM SORRY 😭‼) I find a close Mc Donald's and I walk inside.
'A Y/F/B sounds so good right now..' (Your favourite breakfast) I walked up to the screen, searching for what I wanted. I clicked, payed and sat down to a table.
*Time skip to 10AM*
I walk down the street, listening to some more of this guys songs. I had seen his listener count and he was so underrated.
This was one of my favourites, it reminded me of Tommy and I. We listened to it one night when we went stargazing last year. One of my favourite nights. Tommy and I danced around in the field we were in, shouting the words.
~Flashback~
'STOP... CUS WHY'D YOU HAVE TO KILL MY CAT?! WHY'D I HAVE TO TAKE YOU BACK? TIME AND TIME I PLAY THE EMPATH'
We danced and jumped around the tulips, belting the lyrics.
'OH, BABY ISN'T LIFE SO F---ING INCONSISTENT?'
~End of flashback~
