You were finally allowed on the ship, after counting heads you managed to basically account for fifty heroes, give or take.
You were told to wait on the deck of the ship. So you weren't bunched up in a cramped space with 50 people you didn't know but there was still a sense of closeness.
Heroes in one side and the government in another, almost in a superior position
Bakugo was quiet, with his arms folded across his chest standing up as straight as a nail. His eyes were set on the front, and he was clearly concentrating, already thinking of outcomes, possibilities and plans. So to not bother him you just caught up with the rest--- although Todoroki didn't do much talking because he was also in the same mode Bakugo was.
After the last call was made, a younger voice came out of the speakers, "Thank you all for coming on such a short notice. Compensation and commendations will never be enough to make it up, but alas we all work to serve our country."
Even though it sounded too young for someone that was in charge of military branches, meaning he must have served a few years he had presence even though he wasn't physically here.
"On this day, in a matter of minutes we shall embark to Greenland. At high speeds, we should arrive in no less than a week. From there, we will board a submarine and travel to our destination. The objective of this mission is of utmost importance, the world as we know it as at stake,"
Murmurs started going around, some heroes visibly confused and turned off by the harsh words.
'I didn't sign up for this.'
'World ending threat?'
"You will have two chances to abandon the mission. Once we reach Greenland, if you feel like you weren't pampered enough in your stay or that you much prefer to be stuck in your agency or office you may leave. I don't want cowards with me. The other chance is right now, you may walk off the ship right at this instant, or jump off during the trip and swim your way back, I don't care."
The whispers stopped, and no one moved.
"To those what wish to stay, whether because you're brave or have a death wish a military official shall show you to your assigned room. Again this isn't a Norwegian cruise line, you will be bunked with someone else. And I don't believe in 'girls' on one side and 'boys' in the other, you're all grown adults here, if you want to drown yourself in sexual juices during your free time, that's fine by me. As long as you don't impede the mission and follow orders, you and I will be great coworkers. That is all."
You looked around again, there's no one younger than 20 here. So he really did only employ adults, already doing better than the Commission
You headed to your room and unpacked, Katsuki offered to take whichever bunk you didn't pick, leaving him with the bottom one.
"Requesting the appearance of pro heroes: Red Riot, Atomos, Shoto, Creati and Dynamight."
"Please make your way to sub-deck number 5"
You looked over at Katsuki from your luggage, "Looks like we're already being called."
"Guess so"
You stripped out your hoodie and leggings, changing your tennis for your boots and then you headed over to the respective deck. Five floors down from the main one, the hallways looked creepier and hollow. The noise was limited to the squeaks or sound of steps. The white and green faded into a murkier tone, this was the working part of the ship the kind you don't show guests.
