Chapter 12 No longer a pushover

Lia passes Dan a note that reads "Can we talk?" As he is replying, the principal enters Ms. Blake's classroom and she calls Dan to the hall. She explains that his mother needs him to leave school but adds that she is aware of his poor school record and wants to warn him "in the nicest possible way" not to slip back into old ways.

Dan's
POV
Lia passed me a note that reads "Can we talk?" As I was replying, the principal entered Ms. Blake's classroom and she called me into the hall. She explained that my cousin needed me to leave school but added that she was aware of my poor school record and wanted to warn me"in the nicest possible way" not to slip back into old ways. I looked at my new history teacher "I won't I promise your looking at a new Dan fisher." I said but she looked at me "resolutions are only good if you stick with them Mr. Fisher." She said I promised I would and I wouldn't be "ephemeral."

At the hospital
Renea and I raced down the hospital hallway, "why didn't you call me? I asked as we stopped she sighed " you'll think it is selfish but I didn't call You first because your working so hard with the extra reading, summer classes, and saving money for the motorbike which I'm still against I didn't want the supernatural crazy to interfere with everything you have been accomplishing." I locked eyes with the nurse saying "I won't this year is going to be better I'm going to be a better student, a better son, a better friend, a better everything."

Renea smiled at me "okay, 3rd floor room 13, if he's not there he's in surgery." She said I nodded Renea is a good friend but a bit protective to I already have a mother I don't need another.

Dan heads to the elevator to find Rhydian but the doors are stopped before they can close by what appears to be a blind man's cane. A man in dark glasses with a British accent enters and asks Dan to press the second floor. When Dan tries to exit on the floor - the blind man asks for his help and grabs his shoulder aiming to use him as a guide. Dan reluctantly complies.

Rhydian wasn't in his room. Using my super hearing I learned Rhydian was already in surgery. His wounds had completely healed and the Doctor was angry telling the orderly to get him out of the operating room.

The orderly a (who is a Plutonian in disguise) wheels Rhydian away and we see he has claws protruding through his surgical gloves.

I arrived just in time to see the orderly wheeling Rhydian into the elevator. I sensed that he wasn't human I growled and dived headlong toward the closing elevator doors.

I landed in a heap with claws and fangs bared. We fought with the orderly quickly gaining and maintaining the upper hand. He slamed me into the ceiling and the floor several times then grabbing my shirt he hosted me into the air "don't you know what your dealing with, I'm an Alpha!" At that moment the doors opened, he released his grip and gasped as I fell to the floor I saw two faces I never thought i'de see again Maddy smith and my friend Sebastian. Maddy had her claws in the guy in the back.
"So am I" she said and threw the guy out of the elevator and across the hall where he landed unconscious.

With the threat delt with Sebastian turned to me. "Aren't you supposed to be in class?" He dead panned.

Jenn's
P.O.V
My daughter is now a year old and walking she started talking to. Not full sentences but words she says stuff like "I tiered." Or "I hungry." However my daughter is way out of control. Maddison will not take me or anyone else seriously. To night when I told her to go to bed she did not do as I told her. Andrea and Lauren walked in from cleaning up Maddison's mess she had colored on the walls.
"Jenn this has to stop." Andrea said frustrated Lauren nodded in agreement. "She's right Jen Maddison's been drawing on the walls at home, running in the house, not putting her toys away and bullying the other kids at school." "She's been doing what?" "Yeah we got call from the school she started to fights." I sighed saying that was just unacceptable.
