The silent cry that only I can hear, the silent cry you've hidden until now.
.
"They took them away, they're gone," Jeogin whispered.
Jisung was hugging Minho's pillow close to himself. His eyes were sore from crying, but that didn't stop the tears from falling.
Changbin was holding Jeongin close to himself, patting his back. Even though Jeongin avoided physical touch Changbin was the only thing calming him down. Chan looked broken, and Seungmin was even more angered.
"So,"
"Are we still going to wait around here?" Seungmin asked, breaking the silence.
They turned to Chan who didn't move an inch.
"I don't know..." Chan whispered.
He needed Felix, all he could think about was Felix.
Changbin looked at the three boys, Jisung who was ultimately destroyed and trying to not lose his mind, Chan who looked lost trying to get himself together, and Seungmin who was boiling with rage. Then he looked at Jeongin who had fallen asleep in his arms, sighing.
"This isn't going to work," Changbin said out loud.
"We're too vulnerable to fight, and we're too fucking angry to do anything... take a look at yourselves, you all look like zombies."
"All I want is Hyunjin back. I don't care how I look," Seungmin said, trying to keep his cool.
Hyunjin sighed, staring at the crusty marble floor in disappointment. Just then Y walked in smiling at Hyunjin who could only weakly smile back.
"Chess?" Y asked, shrugging their shoulders.
"What do I get if I win?" Hyunjin asked. Y grinned.
"What do I get if you lose?" Y replied but Hyunjin only rolled his eyes, getting up and sitting in front of them.
The chess game was fairly long. The two competed with each other but in the end, Hyunjin won.
"Who taught you?" Y asked curiously.
"Just someone I used to know," Hyunjin shrugged.
"My prize?" He asked with a clever grin.
"Yes, yes go ahead, name your price," Y asked, leaning back comfortably.
"Why are you like this?" Hyunjin asked, staring into Y's eyes that were swirling with many unreadable emotions.
Y's smile slowly faded but they continued to stare at Hyunjin in amusement.
"My mother, she was killed for being immortal, or because of, me," Y said, simply picking up her orange juice to take a sip.
"My father killed her,"
"He taught me to be like this, to end immortals, I want it to stop, but I can't make it stop," Y said their voice cracking.
"A curse?" Y nodded.
"I don't know what to do Hyunjin, this is all I've been taught, to hate and to be hated. I can not change it even if I wanted to. I'm bound to the castle of cruelty, I'm a crowned heir Hyunjin, heirs who sit on thrones twice as big as themselves don't get freedom." For the first time, Hyunjin saw how heavy the crown could weigh on Y's head.
"In this castle. I will have to kill all immortals to free myself, it's the only way."
"Is there another way to end the curse?"
"It's impossible, no one can do it, no one can feel that for me," Y said, twisting their silver ring.
"Feel what?" Hyunjin pressed.
"I'm only existing to hate Hyunjin, no one can love me, they can hate me or pity me. And I will allow no one to sympathize with me," Y said, staring up at Hyunjin.
"Let me hear you, let me find you, let me comfort you, let me in," Hyunjin begged.
"So you can break me?" Y whispered.
"No thank you," Y got up and left.
"Your friends are here,"
"Are they ok? Did you hurt them? Where are they?-"
Y wore a sad smile.
"You can only see me as a monster Hyunjin, you know it too," Y said their voice bitter.
"But they're okay," they responded to his previous question, opening the door to reveal them.
"Oh my God Hyunjin!" Felix yelled running to hug Hyunjin Minho was too exhausted to say anything and waved at him laying down on the bed.
"How do we get out?" Felix asked.
"We can't, there's a barrier but don't worry Y won't hurt us," Hyunjin mumbled.
"Y?"
"Yes Y, they're the real mastermind, Sunny is just a minion, basically a step of stairs for Y. Y... is powerful, but they need help, we need to protect Y Felix." Felix stared at Hyunjin's desperate form in disbelief.
"Why are you protecting them then! Have you--"
"I'll explain everything but you can't, you need to help me protect them I need to save them,"
Minho sat up in interest listening as Hyunjin explained everything to them in detail.
"Bullshit," Minho scoffed.
"I can force the truth out of Y," Minho shrugged, laying back down.
"And I should be able to feel their emotions,"
" And I can read their mind, they're not lying," Hyunjin rolled his eyes.
"Why do you want to save them so badly?" Minho asked, annoyed.
"It's not their fault,"
"They killed people," Minho said bored.
"Did they?" Hyunjin challenged him.
"They could have killed me a hundred times and over, yet they didn't," Hyunjin had tears in his eyes while saving this.
"Their right, Y's right all we can ever view them as is a monster. Y might as well be a monster. They didn't have a choice, I didn't have the choice to be born, Y didn't have the choice to choose. You never hate me for my existence, but why hate them when they didn't choose to be born into this mess?" Hyunjin asked Minho froze his heart was cold, but this time his brain couldn't help but take his ego out of the way.
"You're right," He whispered.
"None of us had a choice," He said lowly understanding Hyunjin. Hyunjin understood Y's choices, Y was basically forced to do something they weren't. A child that was forced to grow up to be the villain.
"We were wrong, Hyunjin, they are indeed stronger than we can ever be, they are no coward. Only a broken soul looking for a home."
"I will protect them," Minho whispered.
"Even if that means I have to go against everything I once believed," He looked up at Hyunjin smiling softly.
"Thank you, thank you for agreeing," Hyunjin whispered, tears trailing down his beautiful face. Felix nodded, wiping his tears away.
"Don't worry, Y's got us now,"
