"PALS PALS PALS!" you and saiki sighed as you both heard nendou stomping towards you.
'nendou please stop screaming.' saiki groaned softly.
"yes nendou there is really no need to yell." you sent him an awkward smile.
"oh i'm so sorry pals i just got too excited." nendou calmed down.
"did you see what happened with the whole school earlier?" nendou asked the both of you eagerly.
"well yeah we did." you answered hesitantly.
"WASN'T IT CRAZY I MEAN ABSOLUTELY WILD AND OUT OF THIS WORLD?" nendou continued his questioning.
'has he never seen a cat and dog chasing each other.' saiki sighed, making you giggle.
"yes nendou it was pretty wild." you played along.
"well that's all i was wondering since i didn't really see you guys the whole day." nendou said.
"well then me and saiki will be taking our leave early since we're just so tired from chasing those crazy animals." you let out an exaggerated huff.
'that is almost true.' saiki interrupted.
you sent him a glare and cleared your throat to get him to shut up.
"oh ok then i'll see you guys tomorrow." nendou waved the two of you off enthusiastically.
"oh and nendou please make sure to let everyone know we left." you returned his wave kindly.
nendou nodded and waved at the both of you until he couldn't see you anymore.
"welp that was an interesting day." you hummed.
'no thanks to you.' saiki responded blandly.
"it wasn't all my fault." you grumbled to yourself quietly.

you and saiki telepathically agreed to go to his house for the rest of the afternoon.
the walk suddenly became gradually more awkward once you both coulldn't sense that none of his parents were home.
'it appears we are home alone.' saiki hummed, mostly to himself.
"is that so." you stated slightly awkwardly.
'mhmm' saiki muttered.
"why is this all of a sudden so awkward." you groaned lightheartedly.
saiki sent you a slight smile and shrugged his shoulders.
you both made eye contact and broke out into soft laughter.
you were slightly surprised at the sound of saiki's soft chuckling but smiled a little bit wider and continued your small laughing session.
"this is horrible." you managed to let out in between laughs.
"absolutely terrible." saiki said out loud.
you both jumped when you heard saiki actually open his mouth to speak but then broke out into shy smiles.
"um let's go play one of your crappy video games." you cleared your throat awkwardly.
saiki curtly nodded before you both headed inside.
