Confusion Among Us

A few hours later...

Jerry and Cory were outside of the police station, patiently waiting for Bloom to come over.

"Gee, he sure is late today, isn't he?" Jerry asked.

"That's strange. Didn't he issue a 3-month break? He should've been the earliest one!" Cory said, looking around in confusion.

"Well, you're right about that one. I wonder if something happened..." Jerry said before slightly tilting his head, thinking. Just then, a voice called out to them.

"Sorry guys!! Something happened this morning and it kinda took a while..." Jerry and Cory turned their heads around and saw Bloom.

"Oh, hey Bloom! Where's Mizu?" Cory asked.

"You guys are gonna be shocked when you see this but..." Bloom then moves asides, revealing some kind of woman with mizutsune hair. Her eyes were closed, almost as if she was sleeping.

".....Did you just bring in some kind of girl?" Jerry asked, pointing at her. Her eyes opened slowly before looking at Cory and Jerry.

"Oh, hey guys!" She greeted them, waving her hand. Jerry looked at Cory as Cory looked at Jerry before at the girl. She tilted her head before remembering.

"Oh, right. It's me, Mizu!"

"No way! You look cuter than when you were a doll!" Cory said, with an 'Omg she's so cute' face, angering Mizu.

"Hey! Just because I'm human now doesn't mean I can still hurt!" Mizu threatened. Jerry chuckled.

"Well, are we ready to go into the metaverse?" Bloom asked as he looked at the others. They nodded and Bloom then pulls out his phone before tapping onto the app. The world around them distorts before they're transported into the metaverse. Sakura was, well, still a human but in a kimono.

"Oh, I'm still human. Wait I wonder if I could..." She concentrated for a bit before turning into a mizutsune, surprising everyone.

"Well now that I got that settled with, let's go!" Sakura said. The SoulSaviours then entered the palace and went back to where Greeneye, well, awakened his persona.

"Huh, where do we go now?" Doctor asked as he looked around.

"Well, we better hurry. Next month is like 2 weeks away!" Greeneye exaggerated. Owl then started to think for a bit before coming up with an idea.

"Hmm, how about the hallway we saw Otis enter?" Owl suggested. They looked at Owl then at the pitch-black hallway. Doctor gulped before hesitantly walking to the hallway. He then stuck his arm through it before walking into the darkness. Not even a second passed and he was somewhere else. He looked around in confusion before walking away from the darkness and looked around. He then realised he was on the upper floor where they met shadow Otis. He then walked away as Owl came out of the darkness of the stair blockage. Then Greeneye, then Sakura.

"Okay, that feeling was cold." Greeneye, now shivering. Doctor sighed before summoning Xilvaron.

"Ahhhh, I feel better already!" Greeneye said before Doctor's persona went back into mask form. The group then continued their way to find the treasure room quickly and change his heart. Something, however, happened when they went their way. CS Cory manifested after they left the balcony thing and stared as they ran across the hallway. His eye flashed to green for a bit before returning to its dullness. He then dematerializes away as they disappear before materializing somewhere near them, but out of their sight. Sakura's head perked up before her fins turned slightly red. She turned around to where she felt the materialization of the shadow, growling. Doctor, Owl and Greeneye noticed that and immediately turned around. Owl and Greeneye unsheathed their melee weapons while Doctor whipped out his uzi and pointed at where Sakura was growling at. CS Cory then walks out of his hiding spot, his grey eye staring at them. 

"How is he still alive?!" Greeneye yelled as he pointed his armed hands at CS Cory.

"They're cognitive shadows, not the shadow ruler!" Sakura reminded him.

"Oh, right." he said as he went back into a battle stance. However, instead of attacking, he tilted his head in confusion, his expression not changing the slightest. Doctor lowered his weapon, confused on why was he not attacking. Greeneye, however, charged forward.

"STOP!!" He yelled as he jumped in front of CS Cory. Greeneye jumped back in surprise. CS Cory's grey eye flickered to green for a bit before flickering back to grey.

"He's not attacking us, so why attack him?" Doctor asked. Greeneye was gonna argue back but then lowers his weapon. Doctor sighs before turning to look at CS Cory.

"Why aren't you attacking us?" He asked, confused as to why it wouldn't attack them. Suddenly, it staggered back as its eye flickered to red wildly.

"Tch, what did I say about following orders when you're supposed to?" A voice asked sternly. The group turned around and saw shadow Otis, walking out of one of the dark hallways. He was holding out his hand, which was pointing at, well, CS Cory. The shadow held its head while fighting the urge to attack them. Without any choice, it lifted its hand before shadow Otis was surrounded by large beams of curse.

"Go, the treasure is in the living room!" He told them. The rest nodded before running. Before Doctor left, he turned to look at CS Cory. "Thank you." He quickly told him before running off. CS Cory stared as they ran off. The rays of curse around shadow Otis proved useless as he simply walked through the beams.

"You imbecile! Do you know what you have done?!" He yelled as he stalked closer towards CS Cory. Before he could grab it, it dematerialized away. Shadow Otis scoffs.

"You may think you've done something useful...but I have other options that are much, much more useful than you." He said before laughing.

The SoulSaviours then ran into the living room, just like what CS Cory said. Suddenly, two figures appear in front of them, blocking them from entering. It was CS Triana and CS Lara.

"Wh- Triana? Lara?" Greeneye asked as he stared. They didn't say anything at all. Instead, they attacked. Greeneye easily dodged the attack. Owl then unsheathes his dual blades when Triana started to attack him. Sakura was also attacked by Lara but she....barely did any damage. She just stared at her in utter confusion on why it barely does damage as CS Lara punches her a lot of times.

"Uhhhhhh...are you gonna..?" She then gets badly hurt by CS Lara kicking her in the face.

"Ow- okay- you do damage when you kick." She said before grabbing CS Lara's leg and turning her upside down. She then raises her arm until they're at eye level.

"Seriously, don't do that." Suddenly, CS Lara transforms into a blindfolded monster. Sakura gasped and threw it. It then lands onto all fours before growling. CS Triana was still fighting Owl. And then Sakura and CS Lara do a catfight. Doctor and Greeneye watch as Sakura was losing and CS Lara gaining the upper hand.

"I'll go help her. Greeneye, go help Owl." Doctor ordered before rushing to Sakura's aid. Greeneye unsheathes his large automatic gun before shooting CS Triana in the back. She yelled before turning to him, snarling. She then slowly walks towards him as she transforms into the same blindfolded monster like CS Lara but bipedal. She then pounced onto Greeneye but misses. He then shot at CS Triana, causing it to screech in pain. It growls before running towards him. He then puts away his gun and pulled out his dual-energy blades, stabbing the shadow in its chest. Owl then unsheathed his dual blades and ran behind CS Triana before jumping up and stabbing her back. She screeched loudly before dematerializing. One down, one to go. Doctor shot as CS Lara drew closer, snarling. Sakura took that as her chance and ran at CS Lara, jumping up and biting its cranium. CS Lara screamed as Sakura's teeth sunk into it. It falls to the ground before dying and dematerializing. Sakura sighed before gagging and spitting out something black.

"Ewwwww! They taste weird!" Sakura said, sticking out her tongue in disgust.

"Well, why would you bite the back of the neck then?" Doctor asked in confusion as he put away his uzi.

"Well, what else should I have picked, smartypants?!"

"The claws."

"...Oh. Well I'm considered stupid now." Mizu said.

"Wait, if shadow Otis sent Cognitive Shadow Triana and Cognitive Shadow Lara, then he should be coming here at any moment, right?" Greeneye asked. The entire group looks at him in shock and fear before looking at where they left CS Cory. He wasn't there....suspicious.

"Well, you're kinda wrong about that since he uses his 'servants' as a way to fight us, I doubt he'll know about it." Owl said AND the rest of the SoulSaviours agreed.

"Well, we better find the location of the treasure, and quick." Doctor said.

"Doctor, the treasure is just there."

"And where exactly?"

"The fireplace." Greeneye said before pointing at the fireplace and the treasure.

"Oh. Uh, that was rather, well, easy." Doctor said as the group walked over to the fireplace. Suddenly, something materializes in front of them. They jumped back as it forms into shadow Otis.

"Not so quick, Doctor." He said, smirking. Doctor growled as the others got into their battle stances.

"Why the long faces, everyone? You should be happy that you're getting the treasure." he teased them. When they didn't smile or laugh, he sighed before snapping his fingers and summoning CS Cory.

"I supposed you have defeated those two, hmmm? Well then...servant, attack them." He ordered. It didn't move. Shadow Otis tilted his head before asking him again to attack the SoulSaviours. It still didn't budge or move. Instead, it slowly turned around to face him before raising his hands and summoning even larger beams of curse. He turned his head to look at the SoulSaviours.

"Send the calling card. I want to be free of this hell I am forced to work in." CS Cory demanded. The group looked at him in shock before shadow Otis' hand reached for him and grabbing his neck before pulling him in.

"We better hurry and get back to the real world, now!" Doctor said before they ran away and to the exit. The world distorts before returning to normal. It was almost evening as the sun was slowly setting, hiding behind a few towering buildings.

"Calling card? What did it mean by that?" Cory asked in confusion. Mizu was back to being a doll, now inside Bloom's bag.

"Huh, interesting...so when I am my original form in the metaverse, I become a doll but when I'm human, I'm the same.... that's interesting..." Mizu muttered to herself.

"He meant to send one and call out the ruler so we could steal the treasure. We can't send it now though, maybe at the end of this month?" Bloom suggested.

"That's actually a great idea. I'll go print some more."

"Hey, I have an idea. How about we make a group chat so we can keep in touch for whenever there's a palace to raid?" Cory suggested.

"Sure. We need your phone number, though." Cory smiled before giving Bloom his phone number. Bloom then creates the group chat and now they're able to talk wirelessly. Good thing, because that'll be mentioned a lot of times.

"I also have another idea. What if Jerry and I post those calling cards around the building? I have to become human first, of course." Mizu said. For some reason, she didn't become human. Eh, she's inside a bag so that makes sense for that same reason.

"That's a great idea Mizu, we should do that once I finished printing then we'll be able to do that by the end of this month!" Jerry agreed, smiling.

"Well then, it's settled. By the end of this month, we'll send the calling card." Bloom declared. The group then separated afterwards to go back home and get rest, except for Jerry, he's gonna reprint the entire thing but it's all about Otis being violent to his colleagues. That's basically it. Bloom then returned to his home, pretty tired. Without any warning, Mizu jumped out of his bag and turned into a human before splatting on the ground. Bloom then panics before tripping and fall onto his back.

"Owwwwwwww...." they both groaned. Mizu then got up slowly before actually standing up.

"Sincerely and seriously, don't do that." Bloom said as he got up.

"Well, I had to test that theory I made!"

"And that is?"

"If I jump out of your bag, I can become human!"

"Well, that was true. But seriously, don't do that."

"I know, I know." Mizu said.

"Where would you sleep, though?"

"Eh, I'll go sleep on the couch."

"Uh, okay?" He said before walking to his room. Mizu then walks over to the couch before plopping herself down onto it and laying down onto it. She stared at the ceiling before closing her eyes and slowly falling asleep. Bloom, on the other hand, fell asleep easily after flopping onto the bed.
