Julia Wainwright nervously paced the living-room of her apartment, checking the elegant watch adorning her wrist for the hundredth time in the last ten minutes. Finally, after a lot of more or less subtle innuendos she'd launched over the last month, Ezra Bloom, the woman's stern, career-driven boss, invited her to meet his family.

The Blooms. In Julia's book, the two words were synonymous with wealth, power and influence. For centuries, that family, together with their cousins, the Stark clan, controlled the country's economy, finances and politics from the shadow, directly or by placing people devoted to them in key positions and influencing their decisions.

Getting into that family was Julia's greatest dream, and there wasn't anything in the world she wouldn't do to make it come true. She already forged the diplomas attesting her qualifications, the letters of recommendation were also faked, and so was the resume. Sleeping with that sleazy, smelly tech wiz two nights in a row wasn't such a big price, compared to all the benefits those fake documents brought her.

Julia stopped from pacing, examining herself with a critical eye in the huge mirror decorating one of the living-room's wall, and smiled brightly, satisfied by what she saw. When the woman's mother, a famous, top-class escort, launched her on the market at the tender age of sixteen, she taught her not only the art of seduction, but also how to maintain a fresh, young appearance even when she was no longer in her prime years.

Always in high demand as an escort, Julia learned how organize her schedule to fit a greater number of clients. At the same time, she kept her professional standards high, making the men come back to her and building a long list of high profile regulars. However, although the money flow was abundant and constant, Julia didn't want to be just another high-paid escort.

She planned to ascend on the social ladder by marrying into one of the country's richest most famous families. Living among the rich and powerful, she paid attention to their conversations, absorbing like a sponge all kind of information and knowledge, that proved to be lifesaving when she started working as secretary.

One of Julia's former clients, who had great political ambitions, told her about the position of personal assistant for a hot-shot foreign politics columnist, who closely collaborated with President Danvers's Press Office. At first, the woman was reluctant because she didn't know almost anything about what the job involved. However, after finding out who her boss would be, she completely changed her mind.

Ezra Bloom. Intelligent, hard-working, good-looking, and a direct descendent of gods, namely the Bloom clan. Using the extensive network of friends and former clients, Julia learned everything there was to know about the attributions of her future job and about the man she was going to work for.

Rumours were Ezra Bloom liked to play for the other team more often than not, and that no one outside the family had any idea about the gender of the person he was married with. Some claimed they were an incredibly beautiful man, while others said the mysterious person was a woman who bore him three children.

Julia wasn't bothered by the man's sexual preferences because she intended to indulge in passionate encounters with young, muscular studs who satisfied her need for hot sex. The spouse and the children, on the other hand, posed a serious threat to her chances of becoming Mrs. Ezra Bloom, and she had to think of a way to make herself liked by the most important members of the family.

It was a little difficult because almost all of them were gay, so Julia couldn't rely on her natural charms to win them on her side. She had to think about other way of doing it, and also to figure out how to get the spouse out of her way. The woman huffed in annoyance, thinking about the event Ezra invited her to, the wedding of his younger brother Justin and his long-time fiance, Marcus.
