Jacks POV:
The boy left Ben's and drove to Kaci's house. He knocked on the door at 6:30 on the dot. Kaci's older brother answered the door.

"Oh, hi Jack she's upstairs let me get her." Bleu said
"KACE YOUR DATES HERE CMON." He shouted disappearing up the stairs
Oh. Date? I'm guessing she told him that.
A small smirk appeared on the boys face
"ITS NOT A DATE." I heard a voice shout back
Eh never mind I know she doesn't mean it

Bleu came back downstairs
"Give her 1 minute geez she's sorting out her lipstick I don't even know." He laughed
"That's alright." I replied
"Anyways how you doing ?" I continued

"Great actually thank you. On the grind cause I'm working on releasing a song actually but yeah."
"That's sick. Congrats bro." I said
"Anyways going anywhere nice ? He asked
"The ivy." I replied

"Nice. Best of the best for that little brat. Treat her well yeah ?" He said
"Mate I would if I could but I don't think we'll ever be going on a date again. She doesn't like me like that." I shrugged
"Don't give up on her, I know my sister. She's just closed off. Trust issues you know . I have a gut feeling she likes you. She'll open up soon enough." He told me

"I hope so. I really do." My mind floated off to the deal I made.
The boy got lost in his thoughts not noticing his date for the night had now come downstairs

"Alright have fun you two." Bleu said snapping me out of my thoughts
"Kace- wow." I said
She is even more gorgeous in person
"Hey ." She said smiling

"Bye bleu." She said coming outside and her older brother waved goodbye and shut the door
"You look gorgeous." I said
"We're icons we even coordinated. See I've got jeans you've got a denim jacket." She said laughing
"I didn't even notice." I said smiling at her

The boy walked over to his Range Rover and opened the car door for her .
"Thank you kind sir." She said laughing
"Get in you idiot." I said

So they got in the car and set off.
They sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes until kaci broke it
"So where are we actually going?" She asked me
"Surprise." I said
"I don't like surprises." She said pulling a face
"And I also didn't ask for your opinion." I said sarcastically smiling

"Just tell meeee." She whined
"You'll find out." I laughed at her
"Ughhh this better be worth all the getting ready." She said
"Any time with me would be worth it ." I smiled
"I'd rather do algebra." She said laughing

I paused
"Why don't you like me?" I asked her
"Loosen up jack it's a joke." She said
"Maybe but in general you just don't like me." I contributed
"Nooo I just don't like boys." She said rolling her eyes
"Yeah but you were happy to smile and joke with Aaron and Brad." I said getting agitated

"Not this again. Aren't we on this date so you can apologise for literally doing the most about Aaron and Brad." She sighed
"It's not about them in particular and I'm not starting issues. I'm just saying why one rule for them one rule for the other boys and one rule for me. You just seem unnecessarily rude to me." I said

"Jack you don't understand, I've been hurt before." She said looking out of the window

Kaci's POV :

"Ok and.Brad could hurt you, Aaron could hurt you, I don't fucking know , bloody Tyrone could hurt you. So why is it different for them than with me. Anyone could hurt you but you put your guard up with me. Why?" He said raising his voice

It's different because. Ugh I can't tell him why . I've known the boy a few days let me just not.
The girls mind wandered as she looked out of the window

"Are you gonna answer then?" I heard a male voice say as I zoned back in
Oh yeah. Jacks stupid questions that's what we were talking about

"How about just mind your own business." I said getting defensive
"Kaci I'm tired Ok. It seems like it's always I don't bloody know 1 step forward and 3 steps back." He said visibly frustrated
"Ohhh so we're quoting Olivia Rodrigo now." I kind of laughed trying to ease the situation

"This is exactly what I'm talking about. One minute we will be laughing and joking and the next minute you will go into full shutdown mode and jsut put your guard up." He said sighing
"You've known me a few days Jack I don't know why your making assumptions like that already." I said

They both went silent
"You know what, how about we just scrap this." He said again after a minute
"What do you mean?" I questioned
"This, the date, whatever we're doing now." He continued

Great. I've messed it up. I thought maybe we could have gotten closer but i pissed him off one too many today.
"If you want." I said
"Well I don't want but clearly your too obnoxious to answer my fucking questions. You just want to put your guard up like usual and make things into one big joke. So actually yes I don't want to. Because I'm not gonna spend my whole evening with someone who doesn't even have the decency to tell me why they don't like me." He snapped

"Fine then, you think you know absolutely everything but you don't." I snapped back
"Yeah no wonder I don't know anything. Because you won't bloody answer my questions. How am I meant to know if you don't talk to me." He shouted
"Just take me home and don't bother talking to me your so unreasonable ." I said
"Me? Unreasonable. I'm trying to listen and talk and have a conversation with me and your the one who's giving me a hard time about it but I'm the unreasonable one? ." He said shouting

"Yes you are the unreasonable one because you can't accept I don't want to talk about it." I shouted back
"What do you want me to do. Sit in silence. If you can't answer a Simple question I don't know what you want me to do?" He said to me

"Drive me home. Now. That's what I want you to do." I said

So with that  the boy turned the car around and followed the route they had been taking back to the Southgates house.
