Once Tom leaves me in the library, I think over his actions from earlier. Maybe he can redeem himself. Maybe. We will see what tomorrow brings.

**************

I head to the dining room in Tom's private rooms. I guess I have to start referring to it as ours, but it doesn't feel like it. Maybe we can start small things like making the space ours. Although, he doesn't decorate much. When I get to the dining room, Tom is sitting at the head of the table, looking over the Prophet. I head over to him and sit down next to him.

"Anything good in the paper?" I ask him.

"Nothing much. Although you made front page again. Apparently you were seen with your godfathers in the alley yesterday." Tom tells me while I start to put food on my plate.

"We did go to the alley yesterday. Just a short trip. Needed to pick up something. Didn't run into anyone though. Don't worry so much. Anytime I am seen in public, they take a picture of me and its front page news the next day. I swear these people need a new hobby. My going to the alley to pick up something is not front page news." I rant out and I can feel Tom's amusement through our link.

"Just because you don't think you are front page news, doesn't mean everyone else doesn't think you are front page news. For example, I would have never known you had gone somewhere without those who do think you are front page news." Tom scolds me.

"Last time I checked, you aren't in charge of my actions, and I do not have to tell you where I go at all. Just because I agreed to be your consort does not mean that I have to run every little detail of my life by you." I tell him sharply.

"That is not what I was trying to say. It would be nice to know that you left the manor. You know Dumbledore has been trying to get custody over you again. Ever since they cleared Sirius and allowed him your custody, Dumbledore has been trying to find some reason to get Sirius' guardianship revoked. I am not asking for a blow by blow account of your day, just that a guard goes with you so Dumbledore cannot get to you." Tom tells me.

I nod my head and begin to eat my breakfast. Tom starts eating too, our previous conversation officially over. Once we finish our breakfast, still silent, I head to my room to shower and change before we leave for our trip. I meet up with Tom again in his study and he takes my arm gently to side along apperate.

We arrive in front of an abandoned building that looks like it hasn't been used in a while. I look over at Tom and he looks like he would rather be anywhere else but here. I look back at the building and wait for Tom to start talking.

"I was born at this place. My mother had fallen in love with a muggle man and had given him a love potion. They had gotten married and when she found she was pregnant, she stopped giving him the potion and had hoped that he would stay but he didn't. He left her and went back to his life before she gave him the potion. My uncle had been arrested and my grandfather died, my mother was all alone, and she came to this place. It was an orphanage, my mother died here the night she gave birth to me," Tom pauses for a moment before turning to look at me.

"I grew up in the orphanage. The kids were all afraid of me, I could do things as a child. Now I know it was accidental magic, but then it was just parlor tricks to scare the kids. I didn't like bullies, not even as a child. Dumbledore came to me the summer after I turned eleven. Told me about who I am and showed me by setting my wardrobe on fire. When I started school, I had no idea about my heritage. That I was the heir of Slytherin. I didn't find out until my second year. By then I had proved that I was very powerful to the whole of Slytherin house. By the time my heritage has been proven, Dumbledore had tried to discourage me from learning. As I excelled over the years, Dumbledore got more and more distanced and grew a hatred for me. By the time I graduated, I wanted to be a teacher, but my old headmaster wanted me to experience the world and to learn more, so I did. I traveled and learned about other magical communities. I learned many languages and participated in many magical rituals. I came back years later and tried for the teaching defense post again, but Dumbledore denied me before the interview even started. It wasn't easy for me, and I couldn't find a job that would listen to what I had to say at the time. Dumbledore became important in our world at that time for defeating Grindelwald. That's when the I started the Death Eaters and had followers. All of a sudden there were all these people who were following me and listening to me."
