First kill

Chapter 6

We were at the cafeteria and while everyone was eating, I was just staring at the wall. I hear Yeonjun sigh before getting up and kneeling before me.

"Aegi, I hate seeing you like this. Stop thinking about yesterday. Please" he said.

"What did happen yesterday?" Ritisha asked while everyone else at the table looked at us for an answer. I sighed before shaking my head and looking at Yeonjun.

"Nothing happened. Everything is fine" I said loud enough for them to hear me.

"But-' Ritisha went on to continue but stopped when Jungkook glared at her.

"Guys I'm serious. I'm fine. Stop worrying" I sighed again.

"We'll always worry Ashley. We're your fami-" Jungkook tried saying, but was cut off by the bell. I quickly got up before another word was spoken and headed to my locker.

(Yeonjun POV)

"Will she be okay?" I heard someone ask.

I turned my head and saw Soobin looking at me. He was the only one who knew what had happened last night. I frowned slightly, shaking my head.

"I don't know Soobin. She's been awfully quiet since yesterday" I said looking towards the food she had left.

"Go after her, don't leave her alone. You might have scared off that ass last night, but we both know how persistent he is" he scowled.

I nodded at him before getting up and heading towards the direction Ashley had gone in.

After searching for a while, I was finally able to find her. she was sitting on a bench, hair flowing with the wind. A sketchbook laid on her lap as she scribbled on it. As I approached her, she let out a groan of frustration.

"Hey.... what's wrong?" I said running my hands through her hair.

"Nothing. It's just.... It's so frustrating. I am a hundred percent sure that I know the guy from last night. His eyes, his voice.... it was all too familiar" she said, biting her lip right after.

I looked down at her sketch and saw the eyes of her attacker sketched in detail. I gulped. She was so close. She knew him. But I couldn't let her find out.

I had to do something.

"Get up" I commanded.

"What?" she asked confused.

"You heard me. Now get up or I won't even treat your wounds" I said in a commanding voice.

She visibly froze when she understood what I was talking about. We were only at the start of the process. I had only cut her up thrice. And every time I did, she would be weak for a whole day or two.

"But Yeonjun, you said you would inform me a day earl-".

'Do you wanna die today itself?" I questioned.

She looked at me with scared eyes. A tear ran down her cheek. She quietly looked down before heading towards my car. I followed closely.

"Get in the car and go home" I said. She shivered before nodding.

I turned around and headed towards the gates. Two hands grabbed onto me and pulled me into an alley.

"What are you doing?" the person asked.

"Who are you?" I said trying to look under the hood.

"Daedab hae. Ashley-lang mwohae?" they asked again. And that's when I smirked.

(Answer me. What are you doing with Ashley?)

"Waa, eolmana gwiyeounji. Museoun chagaun agmaneun geuui yeoja chinguleul geogjeonghabnida" I chuckled.

(Wow, how cute. The scary cold demon cares  about his girlfriend)

"Straight to the point Yeonjun. What are you doing?".

"Oh, you don't know? That's alright. I'll tell you. You see a week ago I was told who would be my first kill. It turned out to be Ashley" I said.

I opened my mouth to speak again but was met with a fist to my face. I stumbled back gripping my jaw.

"Nae gajang chinhan chinguleul jug-igo domang-gal su iss-eul geolago saeng-gaghae?" the stranger said.

(You think you can kill my best friend and get away with it?)

"She was assigned to me. I'm sorry but I can't go against Lucifer's rules, Jungkook".

The minute the name left my lips, the stranger slipped his hood off. Jungkook sighed and looked away from me.

"I know you can't. But.... but why...why does it have to be her?" he said in a shaky voice.

I sighed before walking up to him and placing my hand on his shoulder.

"Naneun Jeong-guk hyung-eul anda. Geuleona naneun uliui wangdo algo issseubnida. naneun igeos-eulhaeyahanda" I said. He sniffled before nodding his head.

(I know Jungkook hyung. But I also know our king. I have to do this)

"Don't let her know about the rest of us".

"I won't".
