Ria's fists were clenched tightly and she had her hair tied up in a half ponytail. Mira just sat there, staring into outer space, while Adrienne had his arm wrapped around Ria's squared shoulders, his brow furrowing. I spat out some blood that had caught in my mouth from training, my demon safely back inside of me.
'What the HELL were you THINKING?!'Ria suddenly yelled, banging a fist on the table. Her eyes looked tired but still incredibly angry. I winced. She really did go through a lot of trouble training, especially since she had the highest Level of us all (1,0340). Adrienne suddenly spoke up.
'Usually I would think Ria exaggerating, but honestly. There's nothing worse than arguing with Alexa Gen'. I stared so hard he had to look away.
'There are PLENTY of things worse than arguing with her. She's just like everyone else!' I pointed out, and he rubbed his neck. Everyone's expression softened.
'Where's Marco?'Mira suddenly asked. 'We haven't seen him in days.' I, of course, had no idea what they were talking about, and I honestly thought no more people could be added to this team.
'He's gone on an expedition. There was some trouble with his species or whatever a while ago, and now he's gone down there since he's SO frickin' charming,' Ria said with expansive arm gestures. Adrienne made a face. I looked away from them. How could they say stuff like that? I mean, I can kind of see what those Terrans were talking about on the street the other time... I stopped short and shook my head. I couldn't think like that! I just made these new friends and I'm already pushing them away. Now I can tell why I haven't made any during my 200 years. I sighed, tears throbbing in my eyes. Sasha noticed and ran over to hug me. I sniffed and laughed, patting her head. She was like a little sister to me already. We all suddenly turned our heads when the door chimed.
'You can't possibly be suggesting letting her stay! This is an outrage!' Said an older female voice hurriedly. I thought it was Alexa, but she was new. She finally noticed us and laughed nervously.
'I apologise. Aurora, please come,' She said, then when I didn't, she gritted her teeth and grumbled, 'You are to follow your seniors' orders.' I scoffed and thought, but did not add: I'm 216 years old, dipshit.
I followed her, and she led me to another smaller room, which had a huge window guarded with tough glass. I turned around and stared at the woman. She smiled her 'I'm-innocent' smile then sat down. I did too.
'Aurora. Wow. I treasure what you do. That-' she pointed to the door, 'was an act. No, no, I REALLY like what you do. Well, used to.' She grimaced. I pulled in a sharp breath, thinking she was crazy. She thought... killing was alright? She sounded like she favoured what I used to do! I shuddered in disgust, thinking of what she probably wanted.
'I'm Mrs. Nobody. I don't prefer a title, so there's no point in saying my name.' Her lips curled into a smirk. I steadily shook her hand, but I regret it. She pulled me onto the floor and sat on me. I struggled and wrestled under her weight, but she put a finger to her lips and shushed me. There was a can in her hand now, and all I could think of was: not again... as she smoked the room and I fell unconscious.
