hearing the distant chatter of trevor and rose, sunny was deep in thought. what would she ask this mysterious vampire man who was coming to kidnap her adoptive sister? would he kill her if she asked questions? there were too many factors that could result in her death, and so she decided to not think about it any longer. she will simply go with the flow and see what the dude is gonna do.
sunny sat, her eyes still closed as she heard a light rustle of fabric from beside her on the couch. elena has awoken. eyes still shut, sunny could hear the quiet groans of the slowly awakening elena as she stretched, and she felt the movement on the cushion she was seated cross-legged on as her sister sat up.
the dip from beside her vanished as a creak in the wooden floor was revealed.
finally opening her eyes, sunny squinted, the dark room's minimal lighting still harsh on her dry eyes. elena turned around as she heard her sisters movement and held a finger to her own lips, silently telling older sister to be quiet, and pointing to the doorway behind her where rose and trevor were still chattering in the room over.
sunny lied down on the lumpy couch, her hazy mind singing different songs on loop as she thought of him. the one rose spoke about. the one from her childhood dreams. klaus.
she use to think he was a figment of her imagination, her mind playing tricks as she tried to escape the voices that consumed her mind daily. it was only when she had discovered weed, that she had realised he too had left her, along with the voices. she had cried as she had lost her only haven, instead finding a new peace in gardening.
she was pulled out of her sad thoughts as she heard another one of the floorboards squeak, only much further away. she rolled her eyes, elena was a horrible eavesdropper.
"You! There's nothing around here for miles. If you think you're getting out of this house, you're tragically wrong. Understand?" sunny heard rose shout as rose angrily stomped down the hallway towards elena.
"Who's Elijah?" elena stupidly asked, like rose would tell her. sunny rolled her eyes again, instead deciding to hum the songs that were playing on loop in the back of her mind.
"He's your worst nightmare." rose replies dramatically. sunny just thought everyone needed to take a chill pill.
"Why am I here?" elena asked."You keep asking me these questions like I'm gonna answer them." rose rebutted.
all sunny could think about during the irritatingly long back and forth conversation, was what she was going to eat once she got home. she had the worst case of the munchies in history, and absolutely nothing to eat. she had decided that she was going to go to the mystic grill after this kidnapping fiasco had ended, and the save elena crew had shown up to take them home. she thought about the loaded cheese fries and the refreshing lemonade she would order from matt, who would serve it with a side of bacon because he knew sunny loved it that way. by the end of her hunger fantasy, she was basically drooling. she snapped out of her hunger haze and back to reality, just as rose spoke.
"No, the moonstone is what binds the curse. The sacrifice is what breaks it."
"The sacrifice?" elena questioned worriedly.
"The blood of the doppelgänger. You're the doppelgänger. Which means, in order to break the curse you're the one who has to die."
"HA! oh shit." sunny said with a giggle as both elena and rose turned towards her, rose with a smirk and elena with a what the fuck look."tell me more." elena demanded
"elena, they don't gotta tell you nothin now come sit and chillax with me." sunny pouted as she rolled over, falling asleep as she tried to fight off her intense case of the munchies.
"hey y'all got anything to eat 'round here?" sunny mumbled as she shoved her face into the nearest pillow, finally passing out.
"umm, no not rea- oh. she's passed out." rose said with a chuckle and a nod.
and then trevor, walked in and began telling elena his whole life story about how he betrayed the original vampires and dragged rose with him to his inevitable death that will happen sooner or later.
elena was sat on the couch trying the avoid bumping sunny after the whole 'we've been on the run from a super old lunatic for 500 years' shit, when she found a note. "Stefan and Damon are coming for you. -B" good. she could finally get out of this dusty place, she rolled her eyes and shoved the piece of paper into her pocket.
trevor ran into the room shouting in a panic talking about how he needed to get out of here and how he wants him dead, everyone was so dramatic. rose then grabbed trevor and said some sappy thing about how they were family forever. get a room.
there was a knock on the door and trevor held back a terrified scream.
"You're scared." yeah elena, obviously.
"Stay here with her and don't make a sound." rose instructed trevor.
rose left the room to open the door as the big bad elijah walked in.
"Rose-Marie. Is there somewhere we can talk?" elijah asked.
"Yes, in here. You have to forgive the house." rose said shamefully.
"Oh, no, what's a little dirt? I completely understand. So tell me, what is it that gives you the courage to call me?"
"I wanted my freedom. I'm tired of running. You in a position to grant me that?"
"I have complete authority to grant pardon to you and your little pet. What is his name these days? Trevor. If I so see fit."
and then rose went on to tell elijah about how katherine didn't die in 1864 and how elijah assumed it had something to do with her because of the armpit of civilisation they were located near.
"I have her doppleganger." rose announced.
"That's impossible, her family line ended with her. I know that for fact."
"The facts are wrong."
"Well, show her to me."
"Elijah, you are a man of honor, you should be trusted but I want to hear you say it again."
"You have my word that I will pardon you."
"Follow me."
it was at this moment, that sunny had decided to wake up. she picked her head up from the uncomfortable position it was in and rubbed the small throbbing pain in her neck. a quiet murmur of voices was heard at the back of her head. she sat up, rolled her eyes, and looked towards the suited brown-haired man who looked familiar, she knew, she knew who he was, it was on the tip of her tongue.
sunny watched as elijah leant in towards elena's neck and cringing at the awkwardness in the room.
"Human. It's impossible. Hello there."
"who are you?" sunny sleepily asked as she rubbed the tiredness from her eye, tilting her head.
elijah turned toward her, away from elena, and looked directly into her hazy eyes as sleep was still only just vanishing from her being.
"oh my." elijah said looking at her in awe. it was her the one klaus always painted. the mystery woman who found herself sat in a gold framed canvas on each and every hallway of the many castles and mansions he and his family had owned over the centuries. as of right now, she was sat in a pink daisy dress, her shoulderlength coloured hair was a mess as it had been squashed against the ratty couch she was currently slouched over, and her eyes were a piercing mint colour that stared into his very soul.
"i am elijah," he replied to her question "and who might you be?"
"sunny" she said with a shining smile he knew would change his brother's life forever.
{this concludes chapter 2. ignore the inconsistencies with capital letters, i am getting some of the dialogue from the show from a website and am too lazy to change it.}
