warning: gore-ish

elijah stood in front of the buzzing girl and held a veiny hand out to her. still in a drug haze, sunny stumbled to grab his hand and shook it lightly. elijah noted how soft her hands were, like flower petals.

he took a good look at her, from her ruffled socks and pink platform mary jane shoes, to her puffy sleeved pink floral dress and messy sleep hair. he thought she looked rather delicate, fragile, like if he grabbed her too hard she would shatter into tiny glass pieces.

he knew she was not as delicate as she seemed, the bruises and fading red marks on her knees signified a clumsiness to the poor girl, she fell over a lot.

her plump lips were still stuck in her beaming smile, showing her perfect teeth. elijah felt the urge to smile back at her, to satisfy her and make her happy like a brother would, make her feel protected.

he knew then and there, this girl was his brother's soulmate.

"it is wonderful to meet you sunny." her smile grew, if that was even possible, and she finally let go of his calloused hand, trying to straighten herself up and look as presentable as possible, this was a hard feat as her dress had multiple creases in it from her uncomfortable lying position on the couch.

elijah reluctantly turned away from the hazy girl and back to the very much alive doppelganger.

"We have a long journey ahead of us. We should be going." elijah stated.

"please don't let him take us." elena pleaded to rose, rose just blankly looked back at the brunette that shared faces with the woman who ruined her life, there would be no help from her.

"ooh, ooh, are we going on a road trip?" sunny asked, bouncing on her feet and softly clapping her hands together. elena just looked back at her older sister with a disturbed look.

"yes, sunny." elijah said, trying not to chuckle at the excited girl.

sunny began listing a bunch of snacks she would need for the 'road trip' she would be taking with her rich-looking kidnapper. murmurs of peanut butter and strawberry lollipops bounced around the room as she mumbled a mental shopping list, checking food off her fingers. sunny was so focused on the idea of finally eating something and satiating her vicious case of the munchies, that she had completely spaced out, until the head of trevor came rolling over to sit at her feet. she snapped her gaze from the pained face of trevor that sat bodiless and moved her expensive shoes away from the blood that was freely flowing from the decapitated head.

she heard a wail from rose and a comment from elijah, before she realised elijah had gone towards her sister, grabbing her upper arm. elijah then turned towards sunny, politely holding his hand out. sunny happily grabbed his hand, thankful to finally get out of the dusty sitting room she had been trapped in for the last few hours.

elena then stopped him.

"come." elijah ordered.

"no, what about the moonstone."

"what do you know about the moonstone?"

"i know that you need it and i know where it is." elena attempted to bargain before sunny interrupted.

"it's in the tomb under the church ruins with katherine, ooh, and elena is wearing vervain in her necklace for future reference, in case you wanted to know or something." sunny said, daydreaming, looking like she was in a trance as she stared at the wooden flooring. she knew she could trust him, she just felt like she could, she couldn't explain the feeling.

"thank you sunny." elijah said ripping the necklace off elena and throwing it to the floor.

sunny beamed at elijah as she looked into his brown eyes. elena was looking between the both of them, more confused than ever.
