sunny usually lived in her own world, away from the chaos of what she likes to call the scooby gang. often, she would simply hide away in her attic bedroom as chaos ensued only a staircase or two away.

it wasn't until her sister came banging on her bedroom door that she spoke to her sister, she hadn't for weeks, too annoyed by her sense of self-sacrifice and everybody's idea that elena hung the sun in the sky.

"sunny come downstairs i need to talk to you."

"k i'll be down in a sec." she said yawning, pulling back her comforter and walking over to her closet. once again stubbing her toes on her bright purple desk chair. "man, i need to rearrange my room."

after changing into a camo green mini skirt and cropped multi color knit sweater, she hung numerous chokers and necklaces around her neck and placed large dangly sun earrings in her ears. finally, she pulled some fluffy socks onto her feet and shoved them into a pair of dark platform knee-high boots. she grabbed two joints from her stash of pre-rolls and threw them into a plastic baggy, then she shoved the plastic bag into her over the shoulder dark brown bag and zipped it closed.

tumbling down the stairs from the attic and the other stairs from the second storey, sunny finally made it to the living room.

"hey lena, what'd you need me for?" she said, sloppily tying her curly hair into two low buns.

elena stood up from her place on the couch, "god, what took you so long?"

"i-i had to get ready..." sunny replied sluggishly, the antidepressant she took only minutes before, finally kicking in.

"yeah well we need to go." elena said, dragging her older sister by the arm out of the house to the direction of the car.

"w-where are we going?" sunny asked, confused as to why her sister was dragging her along the way.

"to the salvatores." elena said shoving her sister into the passenger seat of the car.

"why?" sunny asked, looking at her sister sat in the driver's seat to her left.

"god, just stop asking questions, sunny. sometimes you can be so dumb." elena said, roughly starting the car.

sunny turned to her right to look out the window, hoping elena wouldn't see the tears that brimmed her eyes. she didn't like being called dumb, she was actually quite smart she thought. she knew how to cook and look after herself, she thought that was most important. elena obviously just had a different definition of smart, yes that was it.

sunny and elena sat in an uncomfortable silence the whole drive to the boarding house.

"when we get inside i don't want any funny business. you got that?" elena said getting out of the car.

"why would business be funny?" sunny asked herself, "business is so boring."

"sunny!" elena called from the doorway of the house.

"c-coming!" sunny said quickly as she climbed out of the car, skipping over to the front door and closing it behind her.

elena was already sat in the living room of the house signing a document.

how long did it take for sunny to get out of the car?

in front of elena sat a middle aged man in a suit.

"ooh fancy, what's this for?" sunny asked lightly.

"okay." elena said, ignoring the questions from her older sister.
