This is just a somewhat messy description of how the game works, it's probably not the clearest thing ever but if anyone wants me to clean it up so it's easier to understand I totally can just ask :) there's a photo of the house layout at the bottom! :)
"the game" rules: - keep all inconvenience cards you pick up - keep all your asset cards unless they are taken away or you sell them - don't steal money - start with 10 tokens - put used chance cards at the bottom of the pile (unless it's smth you keep like get out of jail or smth) - tax pool starts with 1/3 of the total asset cards, the rest sit in the bank, random asset cards are to be picked up from tax pool - government job benefits come from tax pool not bank - gain 2 token every time you pass start - everyone "holding hands" is currently in the game and playing - those holding hands with crossed arms are in the game yet missing their turn - those not holding hands or are otherwise outside the circle are out and not playing - you can only trade with someone who is linked to you or in a partnership with you (see figure 2) - trade partners are 2 players with an established tradeship and may not refuse offered between each other - if one member of a partnership refuses to trade this is a "betrayal" and severs the trade tie and those 2 cannot trade anything ever again - a trade is either swapping assets or giving an asset, get out of jail card or inconvenience card in return for tokens - if you "gain" an asset you have to pick a random one from the tax pool, you don't get to choose - if you land on "tax haha" you have to give 3 tokens to the tax pool - if you run out of tokens and assets you are out/bankrupt - person with most net worth out of remaining two players wins - inconvenience cards are things like; "train crashed, government job owners loose 3 tokens", "someone broke your window, give bank 3 tokens", "asset is stolen, return one of your assets to bank", "go to jail" - chance cards are things like; "it's volunteer day! Give everyone 1 token", "cross arms for xxx turns", "convenience card", "you volunteered! Collect 1 token from everyone", "skip to start" - convenience cards are things like; "gain asset", "government job! (+5 tokens +1 asset)", "get out of jail", "skip asset check" - asset cards are things like; "motorbike, 6 tokens", "car, 8 tokens", "vintage car, 10 tokens", "old boat, 2 tokens" - use 1 four sided dice - people in jail have to cross their arms - to get out of jail without a card it costs 4 tokens (to tax pool) or an asset worth 4 or more tokens - "gain asset" square only applies if you have less than 2, if you have more than 2, you have to pay the nearest asset owner the price of all their assets combined
