Prologue
Kimberly AKA Kim’s POV:
Pain. Pain was the only thing that consumed my body. Pain was the only thing my sister and I felt for 5 years and it will never go away. I can withstand the pain, but I’m worried about my sister.
She was always dependent on me because I was the older twin. Unlike me, she cannot shift. For years, I protected her; for years, I shielded her; for years, I caught her when she fell; and for years, I was all she had.
Locked up. Caged up. We had no freedom. It was the same routine everyday: wake up, go to school, come back home, get beat up, make dinner, do homework and then sleep.
One day when I couldn't take the pain anymore, I decided to pack our things and run away with my sister.
Leaving home was the only way to save ourselves from our despair; leaving home was leaving our brothers; leaving home was creating a new life, a new start for us.
