Amy was walking around her new town. She had moved here yesterday. It looked dull and un-eventful. Her new house was big and clean, nothing like the small cosy house where she used to live.  She sighed and tucked a strand of blue hair back from her face. Her hair was dyed a light, almost white, blue, which everyone said looked magical alongside her purple eyes.

Hopefully though, this new town had what she was looking for; love. Sure, back in her old town, she had a fan club. But when every time someone confessed to her, Amy had one question. Why? The answers were always 'you're hot' or shit like that. Amy wanted to find someone who loved her for more than her looks.

Amy kicked a stone as she walked up to the highway. She saw a guy up ahead. Wait, why is he walking towards that truck? He'll get hit!" Amy thought, running to grab the guy. She pulled him back, just as the truck drove past. Amy pulled the guy back, and realised he was unconscious. She laid him down, checking that he was still breathing.

The guy stirred, sitting up in her arms. "Is this what hell looks like?" he asked. "No, you're still alive, you nearly got hit by a truck. I pulled you back." Amy explained. The boy groaned. "Idiot, did you not see how my eyes were closed, I was trying to escape this shit show called life!" He yelled. Amy was taken aback.

"Why would you want to..." Amy swallowed. "Kill yourself." "My girlfriend was cheating on me, I want to die, what else?" he said, still very pissed. He turned to face her, and saw her face properly for the first time. "Hah, you are supernatural! I'm fucking dead!" he cried. "What the fuck? I'm human." Amy said. "But your eyes... your hair." He said pointing to the corresponding features.

"Purple eyes are rare, but still human. Ever heard of dyed hair?" Amy demanded. Kaiden shrugged. "I'm not thinking to logically right now, kinda pissed to be alive and all." he sighed wistfully at the evening sky. "I'm Kaiden, by the way." He told her. "Amy, I just moved here." She introduced herself.

"You know, I need to get home, but I don't want to let a cute guy die." Amy told him. "The fuck? We just met?" "I'm not saying I wanna date you just that, 1, what else do you call someone who's above average looks, 2, human life is important." she told him. "Nah, go home, I'll just walk in front of the next truck, no biggie." Kaiden told her.

Amy sighed. "Okay, you depressed little shit. You're coming with me while I buy a snack, no suicide allowed. Or I call your parents and a psychologist." Kaiden stared at her. "How you gonna do that?" Amy pulled out a phone from her pocket. Kaiden's phone.

Kaiden looked at her, mouth gaping. "Do you want your wallet back to?" Amy asked, taking out his wallet as well. "The fuck... how did you?" "Sleight-of-hand." Amy told him. "I used to..." she trailed off. She turned to Kaiden, standing up. "C'mon, I'll buy you something." She said. Kaiden just looked at her. "Is there a 7-11 nearby?" Amy asked. Kaiden nodded.

They walked off down the road. Amy was trying to figure out a solution so Kaiden wouldn't kill himself as they walked down the road. She had an idea, plus she could yell at whatever bitch dumped him.

They walked into the 7-11. Amy filled her slushie, while Kaiden watched. He filled one to. They walked up to the counter and Amy paid. Amy walked back outside, Kaiden in tow. "So I had an idea." she said. Kaiden looked up. "Why do you care about a guy you just met?" he asked suddenly. "Because I refuse to let suicide take people. You have a family, how would they feel if you left before them?" Kaiden fell silent. "What's this idea, then?"

"I feel like you should be around someone else tonight. Do you have any friends you could stay with?" she asked. Kaiden laughed. "Considering my best friends was the one my girlfriend was cheating with, not likely." Amy bit her lip. "How about my place?" she asked. "We literally just met, and you want me to spend the night." he said.

"So you don't kill yourself, you stupid ass!" cried Amy, exasperated. Kaiden shrugged. "Sure, whatevs, I legit don't care." Amy rolled her eyes. "Tell your parents then." Kaiden looked at her. "They let me go out all the time? Why should I?" "Oh my fucking god, just do it." Kaiden rolled his eyes, sent a quick text. "Lead the way, Lady life-is-totally-worth-it." Amy sighed.

They walked towards Amy's new house. Amy walked up the front drive, then turned to Kaiden. "You wait here, I need to tell my parents." Kaiden shrugged. "Whatevs." Amy walked inside. "Mum, Dad, I'm home!" She called. "How was your walk Amy?" asked her Mum. "Yeah... about that." Amy said. Her mum's blue eyes narrowed as Amy explained what happened. "This guy sounds sus." said her dad, walking into the room. "You sure this guy isn't a creep?"

"Well, he's on our doorstep can he come inside?" Amy asked. Her parents opened their mouths, but Amy cut them off. "HE TRIED TO FUCKING KILL HIMSELF EARLIER. I WILL NOT HAVE ANOTHER DEATH ON MY HANDS BECAUSE I COULDN'T HELP SOMEONE! NO-ONE ELSE WILL DIE BECAUSE OF MY IGNORANCE!" She screamed. Her parent sighed and nodded. "Fine, he can stay, but only for tonight." said her Mum. "And make sure he's okay in the morning."

Amy opened the door and Kaiden stepped inside. "Follow me." Amy said, leading him upstairs. Kaiden walked behind her. "Thank you." he said to Amy's parents. He turned back and caught up with Amy. "What were you yelling about? Did something... happen before you moved here?" Kaiden asked. Amy hesitated. "I have no right to tell that story." she said. Kaiden looked confused and shrugged.

"Yeah, you can can sleep here." she pointed to a spot on the floor of her room. "I should have a sleeping bag somewhere." "It's really okay for me to sleep in your room?" he asked. "Sure, if you wanna sleep downstairs my cat will try and eat you in your sleep." Amy grinned.
