Amy walked back downstairs. Kaiden stared at the door. He was feeling legit dead inside and this bitch just wouldn't let him die. He pulled out his phone, scrolling through his and Hazel's messages for the past week. Kaiden held back sobs as the emotions crashed around his mind. Heartbreak, fear, regret. What could I have done better? He thought.

He looked around the room. It was mostly boxes, but a desk was in one corner, a queen bed in the middle of the room. The walls were bare. Kaiden sighed, he felt just like the room. Just a shell of what he was. Kaiden gave in to the tears, letting them stream down his face. He buried his face in his hands, shoulder shaking.

Amy walked upstairs, holding some pasta in a bowl. She nearly dropped the food when she saw the state Kaiden was in. He was sobbing, his phone on the ground. He had clearly been looking at his ex's messages. Kaiden looked up, eyes puffy. "I brought you some dinner." Amy said, handing him the bowl. Kaiden took the bowl, no expression showing in his face.

"Okay, I have an idea." Amy said. Kaiden poked the pasta around the bowl. "I'll take that as a you-don't-give-two-shits-what-I'm-about-to-say. But, I'll still gonna say it. Give me one month to show you why life is worth living. Please. Let me help you they way I couldn't..." Amy's voice trailed off. Kaiden shrugged. "I legit don't care. What happens if I don't come around?" Amy sighed. "Well, I'm sure you will. I just need one thing from you." Kaiden stared at her.

"I start your school tomorrow, would you show me around?" Amy asked. Kaiden laughed. "Fine, but after the shit I went through with Hazel, I doubt I'll be mister popular." "Do you agree to my terms, Kaiden Jones?" she asked. Kaiden looked at her, suprised. "How the fuck do you know my last name?" he demanded. "Dude, it's written in your wallet." Kaiden patted his pockets, only to see that Amy pulled out his wallet from her pocket. Again. Kaiden stared in disbelief.

"I'll take that as a yes?" she said. Kaiden snatched his wallet. "Whatever." "Oh yeah, maybe I can help you get revenge on this Hazel bitch. I got a week long suspension at my old school for beating up a bitch." Amy grinned. "You're joking, right?" Kaiden said. "What makes you think that?" Amy asked, the challenge in your voice clear.

"I just didn't expect that from you." "Bitch, we've legit known each other for less than two hours." Amy deadpanned. "I got suspended a lot. Usually I beat up kids who were bullies. I stood up for the people who couldn't stand up for themselves. Despite this, I only had 1 friend." Kaiden raised an eyebrow. "Okay, I'm just gonna sit here crying, don't mind me." He said, picking up his phone. He scrolled through his photos until he found the one he was looking for.

It was a spring day. Him and Hazel were outside a mall, and as Kaiden had gone to take to pic, Hazel had kissed him. The look of suprise on his face was complemented by the happiness in her. They always had been like that, the perfect couple. The football star and the cheerleader. Perfect, even if cliche.

Kaiden stared at the photo. Tears welled in his eyes. He and her had been perfect. He must have spoken out loud, because Amy cleared her throat. "Okay, while you were having a breakdown, I got out the sleeping bag." She pointed to where in sleeping bag was indeed set up. "So, what happened with this Hazel." Kaiden found himself telling Amy everything, from his first kiss to that afternoon. Amy just sat there, listening.

"Wow, she's a piece of work." Amy said eventually. "You need to get over that bitch. Do you still have the bracelet?" she asked. Kaiden nodded, pulling the box from his pocket. Amy took it from him. "Come with me." she said. Kaiden followed her downstairs, to the fireplace. Amy opened the box, taking out the bracelet. It glinted in the orange light. "Throw it into the fire." she told Kaiden, handing him the bracelet.

"The fuck? Why?" he asked. "Are you always this dense? Just throw the bracelet into the fire." Amy told him. "That was super expensive." He said. "I'll pay you back." said Amy. Kaiden picked up the bracelet. The light from the fire showed the tears in his eyes as he threw it into the fire. The silver bent, the emerald casting strange shadows. "Oh wait, shit that's probs gonna explode." Amy realised, grabbing the fire extinguisher. The fire was out in less than two seconds.

"So what did you want to show me?" Kaiden asked. "This." said Amy, pulling out a shape from the foam. It took Kaiden a second to realise it was the bracelet. The silver had formed a strange shape, the emeralds appeared to be dripping off, however they were solid once more. "Tis is what your relationship was. It seemed beautiful, but it was just a mess, really." Amy handed him the thing-that-was-the-bracelet. Kaiden looked at it. It was cool to the touch, the foam from the extinguisher had cooled it.

"That's deep." he told her. "The real question is, do you still think the bracelet is beautiful?" Kaiden studied it. "It's not as pretty as it was, but it's still beautiful." He said. "And there's your answer. You're not ready to move on. You though it was still good with you tow, even when it was a far cry from the start." Amy told him. "The bracelet was a metaphor."

"Okay, welp, you owe me a shit ton of money." Kaiden said. Amy led him back up to her room. She opened a box, sorting through a crap ton of stuff before she pulled out a piggy bank. "How old are you?" Kaiden smirked. "Fifteen, same as you. Do you want Australian dollars?" she asked Kaiden, as she slid her fingernail into a small crack in the side of the piggy bank.

It spilt clean in half, revealing maybe $1000 dollars. And that was just the Australian money. "There must be a million bucks inside of there!" Kaiden said. "Nine thousand, 5 hundred and 99 dollars actually." Amy said. "How much was that bracelet?" "$300." "You spent three hundred bucks on that bitch?!" Amy cried. "Wow." She said, tucking the money into Kaiden's wallet. At this point, Kaiden didn't even ask when she'd swiped it again. He just put it in his pocket and sighed.
