The rest of the school day was uneventful. Kaiden was still being depressed, Amy and the others had cheered him up a little, but not very much. The school day was finally over, and Amy, Kaiden and Alex were waiting for Gus (who needed to get a project off a teacher) by the school gate.

"Hey Alex?" Kaiden asked. Alex looked up. "Yeah, what is it?" "How long are you gonna pretend you don't like Gus?" he asked. Amy raised her eyebrows. "So you do like him." Alex flushed. "No I don't." They said, unconvincingly. "You can tell the truth, we won't tell him." Kaiden said. Alex sighed. "Yeah. I do like Gus. But don't tell him!" They exclaimed.

Amy and Kaiden nodded. "Why did you guys wanna know anyway?" Alex asked, still red. "Well, I just wanted to know because when Kaiden told you guys to stop flirting your denial wasn't very convincing." Amy explained. "It was that obvious?" Alex asked. Amy nodded. "Yeah. I got the vibe that Gus might like you back." Kaiden nodded in agreement.

"Really?" Alex asked, blushing. Amy nodded. Alex beamed. "Hey guys, thanks for waiting." said Gus as he walked up. "Oh, Alex, you're really red. Do you have a fever?" He touched Alex's forehead. Alex got redder. "N-no, I'm fine." Amy laughed. "Don't worry, Alex is fine. They just got a bit embarrassed."

"About what?" Gus asked. "Nothing. Anyway, lets go to the shops!" Alex said, desperate to change the topic. The four headed towards the shops. Kaiden still wasn't saying much, but he seemed to be doing okay. Amy was still really worried about him.

Alex and Gus were talking up ahead, while Amy and Kaiden walked in silence. "Hey Kaiden?" Amy asked. "What is it?" He asked. "Do you still feel like you wanna die?" She asked, her face concerned. Kaiden shrugged. "I don't even know. Like, I think it was just spur-of-the-moment, but to be honest, if I had a chance to die right now, I don't know what I'd do."

"You really liked that bitch." Amy said. "Yeah, no shit." Kaiden said bitterly. "Still though, you seem pretty depressed over some girl." She said. Kaiden looked at her. "You don't get it, do you?! You've never loved someone, how can you judge me?!" He yelled. Amy flinched. Gus and Alex stopped and stared.

Kaiden walked forward. "I'm sorry for being so insensitive earlier. I might not know what love feels like, but I know the pain of losing someone." Amy said quietly. Kaiden turned back around. Gus and Alex kept walking, giving Amy and Kaiden some space.

"Look, I'm sorry for yelling. I'm just really pissed at my life right now." Kaiden said. "It's fine, I'm the one who's being so rude." Amy said. "It's just that there was someone I could have helped, but I didn't know what they were going through." She finished. "So that's why you saved me yesterday." Kaiden said.

Amy nodded. "I never want to have a chance to help someone and not take it." "Look, I'm going to try and get over Hazel. Hopefully, your plan to help me by the end of the month will work." Kaiden smiled sadly. "Okayy... I hate to interrupt, but we're here!" Alex said.

The four had indeed arrived at the 7-11. They walked in, and joined the line for slurpees. When they got there, Alex accidentally over-filled theirs. Gus helped them clean it up, and their hands accidentally touched, causing both of them to look away and blush. Amy and Kaiden both noticed this, and laughed.

They all payed for their slushies, and sat down on at a nearby park table. "So, Amy, how was your first day at our school?" asked Alex. Amy smiled. "It was really fun." "Wait, Amy what's your phone number, I'll put you in the group chat." Alex said. Everyone gave Amy their number, and Amy got added to the chat.

"So, lets get serious for a sec here." said Alex. "Kaiden, why did you want to die? Like what about the breakup made you want to?" They finished. "I guess I just didn't want to face the world. I don;t want to live in a world where Hazel doesn't love me anymore." Kaiden said. "Kaiden, we're here for you." Amy said. "Yeah, you can talk to us about it if you want." said Gus.

Kaiden shook his head. "I will talk about it... but I can't just yet. I need some time." "That's fair. But please dude, your like, my best friend. Did you think about how much it would hurt us, or your parents if you had died last night?" Alex asked. "That's what I said too." said Amy.

Kaiden shook his head. "I was only thinking about myself. I'm really sorry guys." Kaiden said. "Why didn't you call one of us to talk about it or something?" Gus said. "I thought you guys had known about Hazel and Percy." Kaiden said. "Why would we? Hazel and Percy never seemed to like us. They never told us anything unless you were there too." Alex said.

"Really? They always seemed nicer than that. At least, Hazel did." Kaiden said. "Poor Kaiden; blinded by love." Alex said, over-dramatically.  "The others knew though. They must have, why else would they not acted surprised today?" Gus said, referring to some of the other people that Kaiden hung around with.

Throughout this exchange, Amy stayed silent. She had nearly said to much. Much as she wanted to talk about what had happened before she moved, she had no right to tell that story. Amy sighed. "What is it?" Kaiden asked.

"Well, I figured out a way you could burn of some steam." She grinned, and pointed to a group of guys nearby. "So he's here with those guys." Gus said. "Percy." Kaiden all but spat the words. "Wanna go bash some heads?" Alex said. "I would strongly advise against this. You could-" Gus's warning was cut off by Alex. "We can't get suspended if we're not at school." "Yeah, but it's still the wrong thing to do." Gus insisted.

"I can't understand why your cute face spouts that crap. You should let loose once in a while." Alex said. "Wait, what? Did you just... call me cute?!" Gus demanded. Alex blushed. "Uhhhh..." "Hey guys, sorry to interrupt this anime-worthy moment, but we don't need to go to Percy. He's coming to us." Amy said, pointing to Percy and his friends, who were walking towards them. Amy cracked her knuckles, Kaiden gritted his teeth, and Alex and Gus were still staring at each other. Alex turned around. "I'll finish this later." They said, turning to the direction Percy was coming from.
