"A year has already passed, huh? We didn't do anything but cuddle with each other every day..." Katsuki murmured and hugged Izuku tighter as they celebrated the new year.
"Cuddles worth more than just doing nothing Kacchan," Izuku responded before taking a small crackle and started lighting it. Although he is afraid of touching fireworks, he trusts Katsuki to ensure that crackles are safe.
"But our birthday is upon us again. We may not know whether we're still alive or not afterward." Katsuki laughed. He may be laughing for now, but he is completely nervous about their upcoming birthday.
Izuku is also the same. He is afraid that once their birthday is up, he will never see his loved ones ever again.
"I know..." Izuku can only murmur in response.
"You know what? Let's forget about it right now. What matters is that we're celebrating the new year. We should eat." Katsuki suggested. He wanted Izuku to be at least happy.
The smaller teen nodded before they went inside the house and began to feast on the food.
"You two took longer than expected. I'm not pleased if you both are making out outside?" Mitsuki asked the two boys as they went in.
Izuku immediately blushed at the sentence. While Katsuki only looked away from his mother.
"If you want to then we will," Katsuki said.
The greenette almost choked in the air after that.
"Kacchan!!" He flusteredly shouted. ( Is that even a word??? )
"What? You're mine, after all, I can kiss you when I want to." Katsuki ranted back.
"That's enough boys, let's eat." Masaru finally interrupted the chat. He is pretty hungry, why not stop their conversation?
"Coming!"
"Tch- ow!" Katsuki hissed as he was hit by his mother in the head.
They all sat in each chair and looked at the wide table, drooling... They all took deep breaths and,
"Thank you for the food!"
~~~
"Mmm! That food was so delicious!" Izuku sighed and patted his tummy. All of them nodded and did the same.
"Thanks to Inko's great cooking skills, I had the biggest and happiest bite on the food." Mitsuki proudly said and sat on the couch.
"Aww, thanks Mitsuki. Although you're not as bad as yourself." Inko replied before starting to clean the table.
Izuku saw it and began to help his mother clean the dishes. Katsuki also stood up and helped.
"You guys don't have to. Go outside and make wishes for us. Me, Masaru, and Mitsuki will come later. No buts." Inko said and took Izuku's dishes in his hands. Izuku was about to decline but his mother already shook her head and pushed him next to Katsuki.
"Don't overwork, okay? Call us whenever you guys need help in the cleaning." Katsuki explained before taking Izuku's hands and went outside.
~~~
"You know what's missing?" Izuku asked Katsuki as he hugged him tighter.
"Us being alone together?" Katsuki answered. Only to be given a shake of Izuku's head.
"Our friends..." The greenette slowly looked down after saying it. Katsuki frowned in response. Why would he think about his friends right now?
"Hmm, I bet they're also celebrating it with their families. Why did you suddenly remember them? Shouldn't you be content celebrating it with us?" Katsuki said and held Izuku's chin for him to see Izuku's emerald orbs.
"No, it's not like that. It's just that, I have the feeling that we must do everything we can before our time comes. Just like what All Might said to us when we're kids, remember?" Izuku timidly said as small tears threatened to spill on his face.
Katsuki is taken aback. He did remember All Might said it but this problem is only too small to handle. He doesn't want Izuku to cry, even in the celebration of the new year.
"Then what do you want me to do?" It does sound rude but Katsuki doesn't know what to say anymore. He took his hand away and wrapped his arms in the smaller teen's waist.
On the other hand, Izuku got hurt by the sentence. Even though he knew that he didn't mean it, he really got hurt because he doesn't care about his friends. He looked down once again and shook off Katsuki's arms in his waist and went inside. Leaving Katsuki utterly speechless.
As Izuku went inside, the parents were shocked at his sudden outburst. They were about to talk to him but Katsuki went into the house and caught up with Izuku.
The greenette went to his room, hid himself in the blanket, and silently cried in his pillow. After a few shouts from downstairs, he finally heard the door opening.
"Izuku, I'm really sorry about earlier. You know I didn't mean what I said right?" Katsuki explained as he opened the door wider. He saw that Izuku hid himself in the blanket so he silently went to the bed and hugged Izuku.
Izuku flinched, he didn't hear Katsuki behind because of his tiredness from crying. He really is getting sleepy after all the crying. So, he let Katsuki be.
"Come on Izu, talk to me." Katsuki whispered but still got nothing in response. He only made a sigh and opened the blanket. Seeing Izuku peacefully asleep while hugging a pillow.
The blonde smiled and faced Izuku in his chest. Wrapping his arms around the greenette's waist before closing his eyes to fall asleep.
He made sure to promise one thing before sleep took him in.
~~~
Izuku woke up with warmth filling his back. He saw Katsuki tightly hugging him from behind. He timidly smiled at his boyfriend's cuteness but quickly faded away as he remembered what happened last night.
He got out of bed and took a shower. He wants to see his friends at least one more time.
Katsuki woke up after the warmth was gone. He quickly got up and went out to find him. But he stopped as soon as he heard the shower running in the bathroom.
"Izuku? Are you there?" Katsuki asked as he knocked on the door.
"Ahh! Y-yes it's me." Izuku replied back. Relief washed over Katsuki and started again.
"I'll make breakfast, okay? Let's eat first before going to that shithead's place." Katsuki said before going to the kitchen.
Izuku, of course, heard what the blonde's said. He smiled internally that Katsuki and him will visit their friends.
That was Katsuki's promise before going to sleep after all. He will make Izuku happy as long as it takes.
Soon, he got out of the bathroom and directly went to the kitchen. He smelled the fresh blueberries and soft batter as he went down the stairs. He sat down in a chair and waited for Katsuki to finish making the pancakes.
"Thank you, Kacchan." Izuku smiled.
A/n: long story short, I got addicted to Genshin Impact again. I'm not sorry lmfao...
