Don't Look Back

Author's POV

"Let's play."

The person said in a deep voice  terrifying everybody.
Jin guangshan gulped nervously as wei wuxian was looking at him intensely.

Suddenly the whole sky turned completely dark as if it was new moon day. Nothing could be seen in that darkness. It was complete dark.
Due to their nervousness many people tried to call their companions to make sure that they were there. But they didn't got any answer.
Slowly the darkness reduced but not enough to get a clear view of area.
As they were able see themselves a  bit they realised that something was wrong.

Random person,"where are we?"

Random person,"why are we standing like this in a circle formation."
As they looked around they realised that they were in a circle formation at equal distances from each other with jin guangshan standing in the middle.

Suddenly  few painful screams were heard. Everyone immediately sheathed their swords to defend themselves.

Lan xichen,"wait. Everybody stand still."
Lan xichen shouted at his top voice.
Many stopped at their place but some who didn't listened to the command out of curiosity and fear didn't followed.
But they couldn't see anything  properly as it was dark.

Lan qiren,"xichen what's wrong."

Lan xicenh,"uncle, I got a box in my chest pocket. There are somethings written in the paper inside this box.I clearly remember that this box is not mine."

Lan qiren,"box?"
Lan qiren was confused form where a box would come. Unconsciously he touched his chest and realised that he also had a box in his chest pocket.

He took it out.

Lan xichen, "uncle you also have one?"

Lan qiren, "this is quite mysterious. Since we have unknown boxes I think everyone here should have one."

Lan xichen,"I also think so. Everybody check your chest pocket if you have an unknown box."
Lan xichen said in a loud voice suitable for everyone to hear."

Everyone immediately checked their chest pockets and found unknown boxes with them.

"how come I have this? This box I not mine."

"I also have it"

"Me too."

"What hell is happening. "

Lan xichen,"Everyone don't panic. We need to calm down in this situation. I guess everyone has a box with themselves. "

"Yes we have."

"Yes"
"All of us have it."

All the people responded to lan xichen. Then suddenly a voice came from middle.
Jin guangshan, " I don't have it."

"How come?""

"Everyone have one."

"Why sect leader jin don't have?."
Murmuring sound echoed as people were confused and were talking among themselves.

Lan xichen, " clan leader jin check carefully. It might in your sleeve pocket. "

Jin guangshan checked himself carefully and found nothing.
Now confusion could be seen on Lan xichen's usual calm face.

"I doesn't makes sense. First clan leader jin is standing in the middle of us and now he don't have this mysterious box."

"Hmm,I agree with you. It's very weird."

Many people nodded in agreement.

"I am sure wei wuxian is doing this all."

"Yes he is responsible for this all."

"You all noticed how he was glaring at sect leader jin. He must have some evil thoughts. We must protect our leader."

"I don't see wei wuxian and Lan wangji here."

"This trap must have been set up by them."

Almost all the people nodded in agreement.

Lan xichen has already noticed that his brother and wei wuxian were no where to be found. He was very much worried for his baby brother. But he chose to keep quiet because he knew that people will just say bad words for him and blame him for supporting wei wuxian.

While many people were busy cursing wei wuxian and badmouthing him ,Lan xichen was trying his best to read the paper he found in the box.
Lan qiren,"what is written?"
Lan xichen,"uncle, I am trying to read. The light is so dim."

After much difficulty lan xichen recognised the words written there.
Lan xichen,"Rule 1-  do...don't look b...back."
Lan qiren,"what does this mean? "

Lan xichen eyes widened when he remembered wei wuxian's words "let's play".
Lan xichen," This, uncle I think it is a rule of this game."

Lan qiren,"rule? What rule? What game?"

Suddenly painful screams once again echoed.

Aaahhhhh.....n..no...plea......ah....ahhhhh......

It were so loud that it felt that someone was being brutally killed just near them.
Many people started panicking.
Lan xichen realised what was happening. He said loudly to make sure everyone hears clearly.

Lan xichen, "Don't look back."

Many people gave Lan xichen a confused look.

Then all of sudden the screams stopped and it again became dead silence.

"What were those screams?"

"First master Lan why can't we look back?"

Lan xichen, "All of you look in your box if you find a paper."

All of them opened the box and got a piece of paper.
Then Lan qiren took out a tailsman and if flew in the air emmiting blue light enough for everyone to read what is written.

Lan xichen, "uncle why didn't you used this talisman when I was reading?"

Lan qiren, "I only have one."

Lan xichen, "ooo."

"What is this?"

"There are some kinds of rules written?"

"Rule-1 don't look back."

"What is happening here?"

"Is this some kind of prank."

"What will happen if we look back."

"This wei wuxian must be trying to scare us."

"I agree. I think we should search around this place to get out of here."

Lan qiren,"Everyone calm down."

Lam xichen, "we must not take it as a joke. It might be dangerous. I advice all of you not to look back."

Nie minjue, "I think we are less than before."

Jin guangyao, "I also feel we are less than before. "

Lam xichen, "I have noticed that. I think those who have looked back have disappeared."

"What"

"What will happen now."

"Are we all going to die here."

Jin guangyao, "all of you don't panic. We will definitely find a solution."

Nie minjue, "what about those screams. "

Lan xichen, "Those screams were very loud. I am sure they must be dead by now."

Nie minjue, "first master lan what do you mean by they."

Lan xichen, "they means who looked back."

(Hi guys. I am sorry for late update. I don't know why but this mind of mines is not giving me any idea to write further. I just thought of writing because it's been many days since I updated. So I just sat down and wrote this stupid chapter. I really don't have any plot in my mind. But still I will try to write something good. Thanks for reading.)
