Sunday ended up being pretty chill. Opum and I just relaxed for most of it then she had to go into work to finalize some designs. I decided to go out and visit some cafes and familiarize myself with the city more. I decided to also visit the nearby library to get some reading done and when I tell you the library was absolutely gorgeous. The entrance was a massive archway and t wo heavy oak doors that were already opened. Then as you went past the reception the different wings (it was massive) were separated by spiral stone staircases. I decided to go to the east wing where it was designated for study and in the centre were circular glass tables then to each side rows and rows of bookshelves. Upon the pillars that held the buildings were statues on each one so ornately designed. It was evident that the building had some age to it.

Today I was back in the office. At least this time Bethany was able to supress a snarky borderline-racist remark which was something at least. Instead, she just glared at me the whole time so improvements? I'm currently in a conference with the same people who were there when I happened to walk into the wall. I happened to talk to some of them throughout last week and a few of the guys said I reminded them of their daughters which was lovely unless they're bitches like Bethany.

Evan keeps pulling faces when no one but me is look which is making it hard to focus. Mrs Lewis is giving us a brief about what to do when the Ishida's come this week. When her head his turned I take my opportunity to pull the sickliest face I can and Evan lets a hearty laugh slip out then quickly regains his composure when he realises where we are.

"Mr Barnes, is all alright?"

"Yes Miss." I smirk and he rolls his eyes but bites back a smile. I turn back to my notes and presume listening into to the meeting. She explains that Mr. Ishida will come this week but his son will come next week for whatever reason. Sooner than later the meeting wraps up and everyone lingers to mingle a little bit. I come up to Evan to say hi but he ignores me.

"You can't pull that face, that isn't fair."

"You're just bitter you got busted mister."

"You wish," he drags me over to an older guy "This is Nick, Nick meet Nia."

This man stood at around the same height as Evan. He had slight wrinkles showing age, without those I'd have presumed he was in his earlier 30s. He looked mixed race with a darker tan complexion and curly hair situated on the top of his head in a manbun. His beard connects to his side burn and has no patches. It connects up to a moustache and makes him look put together and not homeless. The grey suit blazer he was once wearing is perched on his chair and his sleeve are currently rolled up. It's evident that he goes to the gym but not so that I'd mistake him for the next Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has his hand out to me, so I take it and shake it.

"Hello, nice to meet you."

"It's nice to meet you too, Nick. How long have you worked here?"

"About twenty years give or take. I know you only started last week." He says this with a cheeky smile, flashing his teeth that'd make a dentist swoon.

Evan buts in, "So guys, lunch? I for one am starving." We nod our heads in agreement and follow Evan out. Nick stops me before I can get to the door, and he opens it for me. I flash a grin of my own in return. We make our way to the ground floor and hop into an uber that Evan previously called.

The journey is short-lived as we soon pull up to an extravagant brunch place. Thankfully I looked the part as I was wearing beige straight-leg trousers, matching stilettos, a cotton blouse, and a Chanel handbag that my parents had gifted me for my 18th birthday last year. We left the black SUV behind and made our way to the reception area.
