(TWS FOR THIS CHAPTER
- I dunno Miko falls off an office chair if that's triggering to anyone
THANK YOU FOR READING)"Miko? Mikooo, wake up, sweetheart, you've got to go to the academy today."
Miko groaned and rolled over in his bed, whining, half-asleep, about how he was still tired even though he had slept all night. Which was usual, he'd go to bed at nine, sleep all night, and then want to sleep an extra three hours in the morning.
"Come on, darling, I'll take you to go get hot pot after school."
"..Okay, fine."
Nakami smiled as Miko turned around again to face her, pulling out some clothes for the boy to wear for the day. It was a lolita styled top and shorts that ended just above his knees.
"Thank you, my gorgeous nephew, now get dressed so that we can make our way down to the academy."
Nakami left the room with a bright smile, a stark contrast from his mother, who usually wore a frown or a straight face. His aunt actually treated him like a human being.
Miko yawned and got up, stretching out his arms above his head. It was cool in his room and with being shirtless that made him shiver a little. He was still trying to get used to being a part-time public student, he had grown used to being in front of his computer at home doing work, not at a school. Though then again this wasn't a normal school, this school made him overwhelmed easy.
He didn't exactly want to risk his life, though that was what was expected from a weapon. But he was frail, he couldn't withstand much at all, a stark contrast compared to his Meister. He was weak.
But even then, they sent him out, even after he tried saying that he'd only end up getting his Meister killed on accident, he didn't want that type of shit on his record.
Miko grabbed the blouse his aunt had set out for him and slipped it on over his shoulders, buttoning it up with a yawn before taking off his pajama shorts to replace them with the other shorts.
He looked for his tights, soon seeing that his aunt hadn't put them out for him, and he couldn't reach the shelf they were on.
"Auntie! Where are my tights?"
"I didn't put them out for you today, sweetheart, you shouldn't hide yourself!"
"The last time I didn't wear them to school I almost got dissected by my teacher!"
Miko huffed as he heard his aunt laugh, he doubted she even believed him. He didn't blame her, it wasn't exactly believable unless you knew of Stein. And from what he knew, she'd only met him once.
Miko looked up into the closet, he could just barely read the drawer his tights were in. Which was frustrating because he couldn't reach into it. He looked around his room for something to use to get him up there, unsure if he wanted to use his rolling chair and risk falling over onto the floor.
Shifting his arm wouldn't help either, It'd only make things harder.
"Why does she do this to me?"
Miko huffed, walking over to his desk and pulling out the rolling chair. It'd be a risk, but he had good balance, so he hopes that he didn't fall and end up with bruises. Lining the chair up against the cabinet inside the closet, he got onto it, at first wobbling a bit before he got his balance.
He snatched the cream colored tights out of the drawer and went to hop down, only to have the chair slip out from underneath his feet, falling face first into the soft carpeted floor with a thump.
"Owww..."
Nakami was making breakfast for the both of them when she heard the thump, the second she heard it, she abandoned the eggs she had been mixing, speeding to Miko's room.
"Miko? Are you okay?!"
She burst into the room, and then into the walk-in closet. And there Miko was, on the floor. He most definitely bruised something.
"I'm okay, I just wanted my tights.."
The smaller koi groaned, getting up with a wince. Because he had laid there for about a minute or two, relaxed, the carpet had imprinted on the front of his thighs and the side of his face, making a weird looking pattern.
Nakami rushed over and checked Miko for any serious injuries, and he of course let her. He understood her worry, but he had never broken a bone before and he's surely fallen from higher heights than a rolling office chair.
"I'm fine auntie, don't worry. Plus, what's the most that mom's gonna do? You're older and we've been taught to not disrespect our elders.."
"Your mother can do something and will try, you know that."
Miko shrugged and squirmed out of her worried hands, sitting on his bed so that he could pull his tights over his legs, they were already behind schedule and he was gonna end up late and he didn't exactly like having to walk in late.
Nakami sighed and followed Miko, patting his head before leaving his room to go back to the kitchen, she would put away the eggs she had mixed and just buy them breakfast to go somewhere, she had to go see things over at the hotel after she dropped Miko off. She had to make sure everything was going well because she was suspecting someone of sharing her hotel's signature secrets, it had already almost happened once, she couldn't let it happen again.
Miko slipped on his shorts and buttoned them up after tucking his shirt in, he was almost dreading going to school in case he was sent out on a mission. He was smart, and got good grades, but missions still put him on edge and got him overwhelmed. He was surprised he hadn't been complained about and then paired up with a different Meister as he cried after often, he was pretty sure some people even thought that he was crying to seek attention.
He just got scared of almost dying and that fear hit after the mission, throwing him into an overwhelmed state.
Miko yawned and then pulled on his sweater. The sleeves were a bit too long, falling just past his fingertips. He walked out of his room, humming a song softly. His aunt looked up from her phone as she heard her nephew come out from his room and come down the hall into the big living area.
"Ready to go, honey?"
"Yep,"
"Alrighty, let's get you to the academy."
Nakami grabbed her keys and then slipped on her shoes by the door, Miko followed, slipping on his own shoes and making sure they weren't coming off on accident. His aunt then lead them out of the apartment and then down the hall to the elevator after she locked the door.
Within five minutes, they were in the car and on their way to the DWMA. Playing music while Miko watched things zoom by, he wondered what his mother would think if she found out he was enrolled there by his aunt. He was sure she'd try tearing the woman's head off even though she's trusted with Miko either way, and Miko was grateful for that.
[A/N: I made Miko into a Soul Eater OC for context lmao
Also it's not completely finished but I dunno what else to write so we're just gonna leave it like that-]
