Memories (HxH x MHA)

Chapter 15

Gon found Mito and Ging a week later, realizing that they were under his bed. He was a little confused why they were there, but blamed it on the younger kids who leave his stuff everywhere. One time he found Hisoka the fox magician in the bathroom. At least he lets himself believe the children put him there. It was dark times then...now he makes sure to lock Hisoka in the toy box.

"Kōki, make sure the others don't take these two again. They are my favorite," Gon explained, looking at his frog's eyes. Kōki just blinked, trying to ignore Gon's glaze.
"Don't worry about Killua. I'm taking him with me!" Gon chirped, picking up his cat plushie and exiting the room. Kōki watched Gon leave and attempted to kick Ging and Mito off the table but Nise entered the room

"I need a toy to be the dad. It's very necessary to my story," Nise argued, walking over to Gon's bed full of toys.
"Yeah, but no toy fits the description of the 'dad' you're looking for," Star grumbled, standing by Nise's side. Nise scanned the bed in disappointment, lifting up a pillow.
"Let's check the toy box," Nise said, reaching under the bed. Star stopped her by pulling her arm.

"No! You'll let Hisoka out! Everyone knows there's probably a camera in there. At least that's what the adults say," Star worriedly shouted. Nise scoffed and yanked her arm away.
"I don't know why Gon still has that toy. I thought the adults burned it," Nise growled. She looked over at Kōki who was still out of his tank and gasped.

"That one!" Nise shouted, pointing at Ging.
"He's perfect! Now, this is a dad that looks like he'd leave his children!" Nise excitedly bounced. She grabbed the toy and ran out of the room before Kōki could react.
"I can finally do the divorce arc!" Nise squealed, voice fading away. Star sighed and shook his head.
"She's been watching too much tv," Star mumbled. Kōki began to scream. He had allowed someone else take what he was about to kick. Kōki angrily ribbited, alerting Star. The young boy gradually stepped away, scared by the demonic screeching of the frog.

Three months had passed, it was now June. One family attempted to adopt Gon but turned him down after seeing the abundance of plushies he has. Especially when they first saw Hisoka. The family took an interest in Star and adopted him instead. Everyone gathered down stairs to say goodbye. Gon cried about his friend leaving and Nise complained about a story. She began throwing a tantrum and stomped in place. Nise screamed at Star and told him to F- off. Afterward, she stormed off into the girls' room.

Star cried after that, he thought Nise hated him. All the kids began to cry more too, worrying the workers. The parents became annoyed from all the crying and quickly grabbed Star to leave. The workers try their best to calm the children down but they cried louder when Star exited the door. Gon on the other hand fell to the floor, letting his sadness take him away for a while.

     "Why does everyone I love keep being taken from me?" Gon mumbled, slowly lifting his head to stare at the closed doors. A worker bent down and patted Gon's head.
     "It's something we all have to go through one day, I know it hurts but that's just how things work," the worker said. That just made Gon more frustrated. As a child, he doesn't understand how anything works. He just thought that the Gods the Amanos told him about were being mean to him.

     "I'm going upstairs," Gon huffed. He pushed himself up and shoved the worker's hand away from himself. Gon went up the stairs, holding onto the rail for support. He held in his tears, blinking rapidly to try and see where he was going. Gon bumped into the wall which caused him to become aggravated. Gon stomped harshly and groaned, holding his injured nose. When he made it to the bedroom, he jumped onto his bed and cried into the pillow. Kōki hopped out of his tank and bounced over to Gon's side.
