Time to get the gang back together. Can't say I really wanted to stick around Vale after my glorious skydive out the tower window. I'd never been afraid of heights, even if I hate flying, but damn if that tumble didn't make me appreciate some solid ground beneath my feet.
Cinder was sending me out to mountain Glenn to help out Roman and Neo with whatever the plan down there was, I was looking forward to getting filled in on what said plan actually entailed. I was being taken out there on an airship by a group of Faunus who were joining the operation going on down here. It was a long hour of zero conversation where I almost dozed off but jolted up when we hit the ground.
"about damn time"One of the Faunus mumbled. Can't say I disagreed with her.
We had made it to mountain Glenn. Almost glad I couldn't see this place, from the descriptions it sounded depressing as fuck. We walked through the dusty streets as the ship took off again. I could hear the distant scrabbling of Grimm and swooping of the birds overhead but everything else was eerily quite as we stepped into one of the abandoned buildings. One of the Faunus ran his hands over the wall and pressed a stone, which was followed by the sound of sliding stone. We all crammed inside the makeshift elevator, uncomfortably pressed together.
"Well this is snug" I spoke up
A couple of the Faunus chuckled or snickered but most were silent. I felt a headache coming on as the auras around me began pulsing. Shit. I hadn't thought about this. Damn I was feeling nauseous. When we finally stepped out of the elevator I took a moment to fall on my knees and lightly throw up. Resulting in laughter and judgement from the Faunus. I flipped them off and spat at their feet.
"Hypocrites. Get on our case for laughing at you"
Then, surprisingly, the Faunus from earlier who had opened the elevator came over and lifted me up by the arm.
"Not all of us" He looked over in the direction of the other Faunus who shifted semi uncomfortably as this guy patted my back, a little harshly but not violent, then walked away. Leaving me a little lost for words.
And then I was lost for breath as I was knocked onto my face and winded massively. It didn't take a voice or noise for me to know exactly who had done it.
"Nice to see you to Neo"
I climbed to my feet and turned to face my diminutive companion. She beckoned for me to follow and cartwheeled away.
I muttered to myself "Hi Y/N, Great to see you, how've you been" I smiled and shook my head, following where she led me.
I slammed my stick down to get a feel for the room, revealing many more run down buildings, and a huge train rested in a tunnel, filled with dust and other energy sources. Their were so many auras down here, thankfully they were all spread apart otherwise my guts would be spilling. But one orange aura shone brighter then all of them as he barked and shouted at everyone around him.
"That doesn't go there. What are you doing?! Come on you can't be this stupid??!!"
Me and Neo gave each other a knowing look....well not look but you know what I mean. I crept up behind Roman, staying completely silent before tapping him on the shoulder. He swung round full force and I grabbed his cane just before it hit my head. "Usually you just greet someone by saying Hello"
Roman immediately transitioned into a hug.
"Oh thank brothers, someone competent is here" Then he swept my leg and I collapsed to the floor "But you're still an asshole"
I smirked as I stood up "well a competent asshole is better then a useless one"
"Truer words never spoken. I'd love to stay and chat but the cats need herding"
