Ultimate betrayal
DINAH'S MIND HAD FELT SCRAMBLED ever since she met Elijah Mikaelson. A part of her thought that maybe it was the way she seemed to be hypnotized by the mere sight of him but, if she was honest, there was a pinch in her mind that it was something completely different because sometimes? It felt like her mind wasn't her own anymore.
"Hmph." She huffed, laying out comfortably on the couch as she looked at the ceiling.
The woman heard her door burst open, and while she would usually jump straight up, her body and mind was too exhausted to allow it. She hadn't even opened up the bar that day, too little energy to do what had to be done. It was like she wasn't herself, she was too relaxed.
"Dinah? What are you doing home?" Cami asked, her brows furrowed as she closed her door shut.
"Nothing, absolutely nothing." The Levy woman replied, letting out a light sigh. "You're home at a weird hour."
"Yeah, well, I have been doing some digging on something so it's good you are here." The O'Connell woman said before bending down over the coffee table, her arms gently making space for the papers in her hands. "You know how me and Sean used to have a secret code?"
"The weird random lines? Yes." Dinah nodded her head lightly before sitting up in place. "Of course."
"Well, those random lines gave me a message." Cami scrambled through her papers and finally pulled one out, laying it down on the table. "and look what it says."
"Klaus Mikaelson 1919." The Levy woman read, furrowing her brows slightly. "Are you sure you remember exactly how to decipher your code?"
"It's pretty specific to be an accident, don't you think?" Camille asked carefully, tilting her head.
Both women looked completely tense, and the brunette hadn't even seen the full extent of her friends research.
"Okay, so, Klaus, 1919, what does it mean?" Dinah slid herself off the couch, her knees hitting the ground in front of the coffee table lightly.
"That's the thing, I know exactly what it means." Cami cut in, searching once again through her stacks of paper before sliding a photo in front of her best friend.
A photo from 1919.
"Is that—... is that Marcel? And Klaus?" Dinah felt her heart sink into her chest at the sight of these men. She had heard of doppelgängers in the world, everyone had one but, this?
