Luke

Rosanna's arms were slung around my shoulders as I used mine to hold her firmly on my back as I waded my way through the fans. Was it right to come and get her? I don't know. By the time I'd left the toilets, the fans had already began to gather. I wasn't going to get anywhere anyway. And then when Rosanna appeared through the door, I couldn't resist I guess. She looked so gorgeous. And the fact the she was crying made me want to help even more.

I'd be lying if I said her words didn't hurt me. She seemed so reluctant and put off by me. I know she didn't know me, and I didn't know her, but it felt like something had clicked. She was sweet, and funny - I just wanted her forever. She still had a boyfriend though. They may have fallen out but but that doesn't mean he was never gonna come back. Maybe it was the wrong decision.

I pushed my way through the rest of the rabble of people, still tightly gripping onto Rosanna's bum which I had to resist not to squeeze. I didn't even care about the newspaper headlines and the rumours that would go round. I focused on getting Rosanna to safety - after all, she did have a few bruised legs from last night, she needed my help.

"Luke!," she yelped, tears running down her face.

"What? Are you okay?" I replied, tilting my head up, but failing to see her through the rush and rabble.

"Over there!" she yelped again, pointing to a small alleyway a few yards to our left. There was a small clearing in the crowds of people, and at the head of it was a small, empty, street, that only contained a few bins and some old cigarette butts.

I turned and made a run, Rosanna's body draping over my back, her head resting on my neck. She must have been exhausted.

"Just hang in there," I said, stuttering whilst I ran my way down the narrow alleyway, trying to be fast but at the same time making sure Rosanna wasn't going to pass out.

I slowed down my pace, and looked behind. We'd got away from them. I dropped Rosanna, as I came to a gradual halt. She stumbled as I let go, collapsing into my arms as I turn around to catch her.

I lifted her up and sat her down on a flight of fire escape steps. She still looked perfect, though. I don't know how she does it.

I plonked myself down next to her, as her head fell on my shoulder, her tears beginning to dry up.

"Thank you," she said with exhaustion, "I'm sorry if I offended you before."

"No, no, it's fine," I said, running my hand through my hair.

"Luke? Why did you come back for me?" She propped her head up, looking at me with her perfect, thick brown eyes.

"I like you, Rosanna Parks. You're funny, and sweet, and beautiful-" I stopped. Maybe I was going too far. I didn't want her to go all crazy with me again.

"Well, thank you. For both occasions that you have helped me out. You're a nice guy, and I guess I haven't thanked you enough," she said, looking down at her knees, fiddling with her nails.

"It's fine," I said, "Getting mobbed isn't fun, like, it gets hard to go places and stuff, but you get used to it. I'm here if you need help, too."

"I guess," she began, "I just guess I didn't expect it. I mean, some of the things they were saying were awful. I just don't want to carry on, this stuff hurts," she said, wiping a tear from her face.

"Rose, show them that they can take you down. They're trying to hurt you, right?" She nodded, as another tear formed and started running down her face.

"Well, don't let them win. Don't let them hurt you, because then they're the ones winning this."

She sobbed again. I couldn't just sit there. I lifted up my arm and pulled her closer to me, her petite body cocooning into a ball shape as I rocked her back and forth, almost falling off the metal steps. Maybe I shouldn't have been so close to her but she was too beautiful to let go of.

I pulled apart from her and hopped of the steps, pulling my jeans up and brushing off the grit from the stairs. She shook her hair and look up at me, removing herself from her curled up ball position, wiping the tears from her eyes.

"So how about you spend the day with me? Why don't we go into the centre and get some ice cream or something? It's boiling here."

I instantly regretted my words. She was obviously going to say no. She was so reluctant of me and I was being way to forceful. But also, I didn't want to just ditch her whilst she was in this state. God knows what would happen to her if I left her there.

"Won't we get mobbed again?" she said, snuffling at the same time.

"Doesn't happen so much in the centre, surprisingly. And it's not too busy today. Trust me, if they come near you, they're getting their assess kicked."

Rosanna chuckled a bit, and reached out to grab my wrist as I pulled her up.

"Thanks, Luke. I really appreciate this. Of course I'll come with you. I'm sorry I was so short with you." She reached up to ruffle with my hair, causing shivers to travel down my spine. What was happening? SHE JUST TOUCHED MY HAIR. SHE TOUCHED MY FUCKING HAIR.

"What are you starring at you loser?" she giggled, "I want ice cream!"

Maybe it was childish but it was enormously adorable as well. I just wanted to squeeze her and hug her forever. All I needed was to get rid of her boyfriend, then maybe I would get somewhere.

But I couldn't do that. She was in analmost two year long relationship, and I didn't want to be the one to brake them up. All I could do was hope and pray the he wasn't coming back.
