Dear Better-Half,
We got a package today. In it was a small stack of bills, a neatly pressed uniform that looked like it hadn't been worn. A dog tag with your name and rusted blood on it. And an impersonal letter from the King and Queen giving us their condolences in the most ridiculous lettering I've ever seen. I cried on the log we used to sit and watch the stars on. I think I knew for a while that this was the reason you hadn't written me any letters. I think I knew, and still I hoped that it wasn't true. Does that make me a fool? I guess you can't really answer that. Why am I even writing this, you won't be reading it.
I think I'm a bit of a fool,
Roo
