Chapter 7 - I missed you

After we got back to the mansion I was filled in on what happened and what we were doing at the moment. Weirdly enough although I missed the oldest mikaelson a lot I didn't feel any urge to "escape" and find him.

I did have a sneaking suspicion Damon compelled to not try and find him. I do lay awake at night some times wondering what he is up to. I just hope he realises that I didn't run away or escape him but my friends came back to get me.

I woke up this morning with a headache and a lot of options over what I could spend the day doing. Everyone seemed to have fallen into there own pairs and groups in term of what there doing to help protect Elena from klaus.

I didn't really have my own group so I just sort of woke up found out what everyone was going to be doing and chose who I wanted to help. Luckily for me no one seemed to mind who I went with. And I didn't mind either because as long as in my mind I was being useful and helping and not just sitting around it made me feel like I was doing something to help. Helping lots of different people had its perks to because it eased my mind to know how many people were helping my sister.

When I got down stairs the only people there were Stefan and Damon. Well I guess that's kinda obvious because it is there house. Everyone had decided that it would be best if I stayed with the Salvatore brothers in there mansion until this whole thing had blown over because apparently it was more likely I would be save living with them than in my house with Elena, jer and Jenna.

"What are everyone's plans today d" I asked Damon while pouring myself some orange juice.

He jumped back pretending I had scared him which of course I hadn't as he has vampire hearing and probably heard me the moment I woke up. I laughed as he ruffled my hair.

"Well munchkin Caroline is going to be spending the day helping Tyler with is transition as it's full moon tonight she just text me letting us know she will keep him all tied up and stuff. Thank god that's the last thing we need a first time werewolf running around especially when there bite killed vampires."

I made a noise to say I would go with them Damon shushed me before I got the chance frowning and continued to speak "and no absolutely not it's to dangerous for you to help and I don't fancy getting murdered by your dear sister if you end up in hospital and just because your not a vampire and Tyler is your best friend does not mean he won't eat you" Damon finished finalllyyyyyyy giving me an opportunity to speak.

"Well if I can't help them what can I do" I pouted.

"Well you can come with me if you want Im going to meet ric and we are going to this lame party thing because we have just got word of two new people in mystic falls and if I know mystic falls then I know new people means trouble"

We had just found out that jules and mason are werewolf's then jules told us Damon had been marked.

Damon was pissed because we just found out in Stefans attempt to save Jeremy from the tomb had got himself trapped in there with Katherine.

I decided to let him calm down except we got a call from Lena to meet her outside the lake house.

Damon grumbled the entire way there. To my surprise I saw Elena with the last person I expected to see. Elijah.

When we got out of the car Damon growled lowly considering he had just got me back and as we walked over held onto me so I could not get to Elijah.

I guess Elena wanted to get on his good side because when we were close enough she grabbed Damon's hand distracting him long enough for me to run over to Elijah.

He opened his arm wide for me and engulfed me in a bear hug leaning down to whisper in my ear how much he missed me and he knows that I did not run away.

Damon walked forward as if to take me back but Lijah growled.

"How about we sit down and make a deal come on Damon" Elena said with that she pulled Damon along and they both sat down on the arm chairs outside facing the outdoor couch.

Elijah smiled down at me kissing me on forehead "come on sweetheart" he then dragged me to the couch sitting down. And you guessed it before I got to sit down I was pulled onto his lap.

I gave Damon an apologetic shrug while snuggling closer into lijah as I was freezing. Elijah must of noticed because he grabbed a blanket from the back of the couch throwing it over me and him. " there you go darling now what is this deal you propose ms Gilbert"

"Well I want you to keep my friends and family safe from klaus and free Stefan from the tomb and if you do that you may tell me what you want in return" I gave Damon a small hopefully reassuring smile as his eyes glazed over slightly in sadness when Elena mentioned Stefan.

After thinking Elijah finally turned to Elena to give her a answer while rocking me slightly squeezing me for comfort. "well I think I will be able to give you what you need ms Gilbert but in return you must keep yourself safe from klaus so I can use you as bait to kill him"

It was the weirdest thing hearing Elijah mentioning killing klaus I felt a cold shiver go down my spine and it felt like someone had punched me in the stomach. I winced in pain everyone looking at me.

"what is it are you alright are you hurt" I squeezed his hand reassuringly. " no sorry carry on"

Elijah looked at me concerned but carried on either way " if you do that I will agree to your term and take of Stefan I will be taking up residence in mystic falls and my mate is staying with me she can see you whenever she wants but she sleeps at my new house" Elijah said possessively wrapping his arms round me.

Elena smiled " that's fine thank you for being so understanding Elijah I thi-" Damon cut Elena off mid sentence " we will be discussing the whole where issy sleeps another day though but be warned if you hurt her you will wish you were never born"

Elijah nodded at them before scooping me up bridal style wizzing me away and compelling us a house that was for sale. It's probably about midway between my house and the Salvatore mansion.

Elijah changed into fresh boxers to sleep in while I went into the bathroom putting on a pair of his boxer shorts and one of his oversized white t-shirt.

I stared for a few seconds mesmerised by lijah abbs. Elijah chuckled beckoning me over.

I climbed into bed with him and we cuddled until I started to drift to sleep. But I could be certain that just before I drifted to sleep I heard him whisper I love you.

A/N I am so sorry for the slow updates I tested positive for COVID and I have been of school for two weeks ill and I still off at the moment but feeling slightly better I tried to make this one long to make up for the lack of posting. Hope you like it and comment anything you want me to include in the story.
