A Whole New World

Chapter one:Part 4

 We finally made it home. "You should try and get some rest," Stella said. "Okay" I walked to my room and laid down staring at the ceiling thinking,"how could i let this happen" "I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to him" as the thoughts went on i started to cry. Eventually I was so worn out from crying that I ended up falling asleep. When I woke up I went to the kitchen but Stella wasn't there so I looked in her room for her and she wasn't there either. I had looked everywhere then I found a note on the counter. It said "I went to go get some food. We were running low but I will be back soon so don't go anywhere. Until I get back you should get some more rest. Love,Stella" I went and sat on the couch looking out of the window. All I heard was birds chirping and a soft breeze. It was relaxing. All of the stress I've had the past couple of days seemed to disappear. I eventually drifted asleep again. Then, I was shaken up by an excited Stella right in my face. I just stretched while she was trying to speak to me but I couldn't understand anything she was saying because I had just woken up. "Jessica Jessica Jessica come on get up" Stella repeated. I was squinting my eyes from the light. "What" I groaned. "I found this amazingly important book in the village today and there was also a troll that was like an expert about the history of this world and he even spoke some english." I just sat there with my mouth open in shock trying to take in all this information. She pulled out the book she found. It was a very old looking thick book with a leather cover and a strap that held it shut. She then flipped to the back page of the book and it folded out. It was a map of the island. "I don't know how old this map is and how true all this stuff is now but it's a start." she said while smiling. I grabbed the book to get a closer look. "How did you find this?" Stella smiled and said "I have my ways." I just snarled at her. There was a spot on the map that had a big circle around it that looked like it could be where the village is and then there was a small structure close to it that was labeled gardien. "Is this where you live?" "You mean we" I was confused at first then I started smiling. "You mean I can live here until we get out?" She nodded and pulled out the food that she brought back so she could put it up. "I can help if you want" "sure" We continued putting the food up until we were done. After we finished I sat down at the small dining table looking through the book. There was a certain part that stood out to me and it said,"today I found a small glowing rock in the forest then I took it back to my worksop but when I broke it the glow went away and i havent found another one since." "Stella come here" i pointed at the line i just read "read this." Her jaw dropped and she said "What if that's how we can get home?" "What about dino?" I sighed. She said "don't worry we are going to find him" as she put her hand on my shoulder. My stomach started growling and Stella heard. She chuckled and said, "What do you want to eat?" "You choose" She made corn chowder for dinner. She then put it in those same bowls. I think they are the only kind she has. I went to the cabinet to look at the bowls and I was correct. They were the only kind besides one that had a design on it and some odd type of writing. "Hey Stella, why is this bowl different from the rest?" She ran up to me and grabbed the bowl out of my hand and said "be careful" and put the bowl up into a safer spot. "What's so special about it?" "that was the last thing that master gave me before he passed." "ohhh I'm sorry." She just nodded. "Did he give you anything else?" She then pulled a necklace from under the collar of her shirt. The necklace was a large round rusted silver locket. The outside had the same design and writing as the bowl. She opened it and inside it had what looked like a tooth on one side and the other side was solid with a tiny hole in the middle. "That is so pretty" she pointed at the tooth and said "This is a baby dragon tooth he raised a dragon and this was the first tooth it lost so he put it in here." "Awww that's so sweet" Stella looked so sad. "Hey I bet he is happier now" "yeah i guess so" she admitted. "I'm gonna go lay down wake me up if you need anything" "Ok Stell hope you feel better" She looked at me in confusion "did you just call me Stell?" I nodded and smiled. She just scoffed at me and walked to her room. I was still sitting at the dining table looking through the book Stella found then suddenly I heard a loud scream. I walked out of the house to see what the noise was. I heard fast footsteps that sounded like they were running. So I hid behind one of the giant mushrooms in front of the house. The footsteps were getting closer and faster. I also heard loud thuds behind the small footsteps and the thuds were shaking the ground. It was a human, but behind it was a hideous giant monster thing.
