Chapter one:The diary of Jessica Ophelia

Hi my name is Jessica Ophilia. The date is July 7th 2036. It's my birthday and I'm turning 19. My whole life I've been saving up money for this moment. I have told myself as soon as I turn 19 I'm leaving. I'm going to fulfill my dreams. I have worked my butt off with multiple jobs at once but it's finally time. I'm going to travel the world. Traveling has been my favorite thing since I was like 4 years old. I'm in the process of packing now. I am going to be traveling with my dog Dino. He is a dalmatian and only 1 year old. Yet he is so smart. I plan on leaving in the morning. I have no idea where I'm going to start. I'm just going to drive and drive and drive.

I'm finally all packed up. I've lived by myself for the past 3 year. It has been just me and dino. I lived in a little tiny apartment in Kanab Utah. It's a very small town that no one has really heard of. It was my hometown though so I will always love it. All my memories are here. I was born in Texas and lived there till I was 2 years old but ever since then we have lived here in Kanab. I used to live with my mom, dad and twin sisters but when I was 3 my mom got really sick. Then,right after I turned 10 she passed away. My dad didn't like me all that much but he favorited my sisters. He sent me to live with my grandma after my mom had passed. My grandma lived here alone. She had a small house with two bedrooms, one antique looking restroom and a tiny kitchen with a very old refrigerator, an old rusted stove,only about three cabinets with antique plates and cups in them and in the middle of the kitchen there was a small faded wooden table only big enough for two people. Of course I was very thankful for it because at least I had a place to live. My grandma had lived in this house for her whole life. She was even born in that house. My mom had one brother and my grandma had to raise them all by herself like how she raised me. My mom's dad left right after my mom was born. My grandma did it though she didn't let it stop her. I'd say she did a good job with me, my mom and her brother. Sadly I never got to meet my uncle. He died a year before I was born. My grandma told me all about him though. He was 4 years older than my mom.

My grandma was the strongest person I knew. She raised three children all by herself. Then, the worst thing that I could imagine happened. When I was 16 she passed away in her sleep. She was my best friend because I kind of sucked at making actual friends at school. I didn't talk to anyone, they were all different from me. I always wore black clothes, heavy eyeliner,chunky black boots,and my hair was dark purple. Everyone else at my school was popular and country. Then in 8th grade I met this one girl. She was my best friend. She had the same style as me and everything but she had to move to new york in 10th grade. I was all alone again all I had was my grandma. She was all I needed though. Now she is gone too. That's the reason I have been living in this small apartment.

Then last year I found dino. He was outside of my apartment door. He was so tiny. I named him Dino because I just really like dinosaurs. Now Dino is my best friend. I tell him everything and I take him everywhere and starting in the morning we are going to so many places together. I'm making a map right now before I go to sleep. So I can check off every place we visit. I am also making a route so I will know where I am going. I have an old jeep that I got when I was sixteen. I love it. It is a tealish color. Some of the paint is chipped but it's ok. I am going to start packing all my stuff in there tonight. It's not like I have a lot of stuff. I don't have many clothes because I wear the same four outfits over and over again plus my work clothes. I have more art supplies than clothes.

I just woke up and it is 4:00 A.M in the morning. It's time to leave this place finally. Me and Dino got in the car and he is still sleepy. He ended up falling asleep on my lap. We are starting towards Nevada. We have been driving for 10 hours now. I needed to stop and I saw this cool forest so I wanted to stop so I could sketch it.
