Boarding flight BA2490...
"Hi!"
Xiao heard his vivacious co-pilot pipe up from behind him. "Hello."
"Ready to take this baby for a ride?"
"Venti, this is our job. We have people to transport." Xiao deadpanned back.
"Cheer up! The views are amazing! It's why I picked the job."
"Pilots are essential." Xiao turned his back to Venti again, signifying the end of the conversation. "I'm gonna get a coffee refill."

Xiao was woken up by roaring turbulence and the incessant litany of Venti trying to calm passengers down through the speakerphone. Xiao laughed drily, rubbing his eyes through his half awake stupor. He had been through this a myriad of different times, and frankly, it was amusing watching first time and nervous fliers alike.
"Calm down, everyone! This is only minor turbulence. Everyone stay calm, it will pass in a few minutes!" Venti's voice rang out through the speakerphone. Xiao got up out of his reclined seat and snatched the speakerphone from Venti.
"It's useless. We just have to find a way to get the flight out of this patch of clouds." Xiao responded, clapping his hand on Venti's shoulder.
"Well, we're nearly out. I see a clear sky ahead!" Venti said, relieved.
"I suppose." Xiao responded tersely.
"See, we're out! I told you!" Venti exclaimed a fraction of a second after. "Woah, look at that view..."
The pair were facing directly towards the setting sun, watching it paint the sky with magnificent pinks and oranges. He flipped on his sunglasses, dimming the already blackened sight, courtesy of their tinted windows. "Yeah, suppose so. The sunset does look nice today..."
"It does!" Venti sighed happily, subtly snatching Xiao's blanket from his reclined chair while he stared at the view. "It's getting kinda cold though..."
"I agree, better bunker down and get some more rest. We'll be flying another night flight back to Mondstadt later tonight." Xiao replied, backing into his seat and reaching for his blanket. "Hey! Give me that!"
"Nope!" Venti grinned, snatching the blanket out of Xiao's grasp.
"Please, Ven...?" Xiao pleaded, hoping the pet name for Venti would cajole him.
"No! Nice try with the nickname though," Venti smirked, wrapping himself tighter in both their blankets. "I mean, you could join me, wouldn't mind the extra body heat."
"You're such a flirt." Xiao replied, shaking his head. He tried once more with the blanket, sighing as Venti snatched it away defiantly once more. "You're not going to give up on this, are you?"
Venti shook his head, grinning saccharinely.
"...Alright. Scoot over."
"Gladly!"
They settled in the cramped but warm position, watching the setting sun, a content smile on both their faces.Venti looked at Xiao for confirmation before placing his head tentatively on Xiao's shoulder. He smiled up. Xiao attempted a warm smile back and slowly wrapped his arm over the other's shoulders.
"every place i go, I'll think of you"
